🗞 Trust in mainstream media

I know he has a reputation as someone who would shag a frog if it would stop jumping, but i think even he would draw a line at that!

Watching her performance today i think you could well be right. Doing a complete hatchet job on Labour and the NHS document, telling us all that the report was handed out by ‘Labour members in their NHS scrubs’, ie, not ordinary NHS workers. The document relates to May’s government not Boris Johnson’s, and that it doesn’t prove the NHS will be up for sale. She then described Corbyn as ‘tetchy’, then moves the narrative swiftly on to anti-semitism in the Labour Party. She is a disgrace.

Some people are unhappy about her sharing this.

Lovely puff piece and another thing I disagree with Johnson.

They’re getting windy.

I suspect the real answer is “I normally have a peasant do it for me”

The coordination here means this had to be ordered by someone looking to reduce the damage of Johnson’s gaff.

Someone somewhere will have dirt on someone. In the meanwhile Kevin Pietersen’s 3m followers believe that it is fake. As do the followers of Allison Pearson and readers of the Telegraph and anyone that has been targeted in a local Facebook group and and and…

We need to be able to control this sort of organised spewing of disinformation in an election campaign.

Not surprised to see Kevin Pietersen spreading fake news to aid the Conservatives. He holds some deeply unpleasant right wing views, probably the result of his upbringing in apartheid South Africa. Which is why his career finished under a cloud, he was pretty much despised in every dressing room of every team he played for. Cricket is probably the ultimate multi racial sport, always has been. Brilliant cricketer he may have been, but human being - not so much. The fact that he enthusiastically embraces Johnson’s Tory party speaks volumes about them as much as him.

Although The Sun deleted it after a few hours, without explanation, and political editor Newton Dunn ignored requests to comment. But the damage was done, give their readers a few hours to read these downright lies, then take it down as if it had never happened. This is how it works in today’s so called free press, tactics that wouldn’t be out of place in any third world dictatorship or the old Soviet Union. Any semblance of a democracy in this country is fast disappearing.

Sums up the lies nicely.

Just seen this.

I checked out the Alex’s twitter. She is a “Political Correspondent for the BBC”. Checking her tweets they are nearly all about Johnson and Farage. You have to go back nearly a month for a mention of Corbyn.

Being reported by the BBC.

Sun “readers” would make shit up anyway. They’ve been fed years of shitey lies and made up bollocks and have lost any cognitive ability for rational thought, if they ever had any.

Yet Boris has blacklisted a BBC Show & is now reviewing the Licence Fee payment status…

Annoying thing is the licence fee does need overhauling, it’s ridiculous that if I buy a TV that I’m legally obliged to subsidise Radio 3. If I buy a radio, phone, tablet, etc, then no problem! A fixed levy on the sale of all electronic multimedia devices going into a dedicated fund managed by the BBC Trust would make more sense than this hangover from the 1930’s.

After the way the media have behaved lately, even dropping the facade of impartially completely, this from Humbert Wolfe still rings true, nearly a 100 years later.

"You cannot hope
to bribe or twist,
thank God! the
British journalist.

But, seeing what
the man will do
unbribed, there’s
no occasion to."

I’m going to give Wolfe a read in the new year.
