I think you need to go broader than that. A Middle Eastern bloc with a secular, federal government, responsible for the administration of the holy lands.
The amount of soft power those sites and relics have given some very extreme governments some completely undeserved respect. Millions flock to Israel and Saudi Arabia every year on religious experiences.
Why a regional thing, rather than just a secular government in one country? A few reasons.
First, I think that there are a lot of issues that can only be resolved by qualified majority votes including a significant franchise that has an external perspective, and can act as arbiters in some places where the conflict is going to be extremely difficult to untangle.
Second, regional security. If theyâre bound together, theyâre unlikely to be able to kick the military shit out of each other, and are more likely to prevent extremist groups from carrying out atrocities.
Finally, individual security secured by the above. As a comfy Westerner, I cannot imagine what many of those folk have gone through. It must have been like hell, and at least one part of that region has been hell for its inhabitants ever since the establishment of a belligerent white colony state on land people already lived on.
I honestly donât think Israel will be able to positively reform on its own.
Some nice ideas, but places like SA would have to educate their populations with some hard truths and that means giving up some power.
But the main obstacle would be this bit.
No way the West(or itâs beach head) will allow that. The dollar collapses the moment that happens.
If you could get the one nation thing going, itâd be the obvious starting point to your goals and probably why Western leaders never entertain it(that and the fact theyâre already bought and payed for). Itâd solve so many problems over night. Imagine the animosity that would mealt away, if the west could just keep its nose out. The subsequent collapse of America wouldnât be pretty admittedly, but you know, some prices are worth paying.

Anyone who has any doubts that the BBC is not a propaganda arm of the Tory party must surely have doubts no more, after the mind boggling decision to replace the footage of Boris Johnsonâs antics at the Cenotaph yesterday, when he made a complete tit of himself, stepping out of line too soon and having to be pulled back in, then laying his wreath upside down. The BBCs way of dealing with this? Show footage of Johnson laying a wreath in 2016. The wreath was a different colour and Johnson was about 2 stone lighter in 2016. Did they think no-one would notice? The BBC is up there with The Mail, Express, Telegraph and Sun as a mouthpiece of the Conservative Party, they donât even attempt to hide their bias any more. They are receiving plenty of stick for it, apologizing and saying it was an accident, an explanation that was immediately shot down by editing staff at the BBC and others, who called the excuse derisory, and plain lying, explaining that it just couldnât happen, it was impossible to believe.
Just imagine if Corbyn had behaved in such a way at the cenotaph, the BBC would have been showing it on a loop for the next month.

I just find it really depressing that, on the whole, people just seem resigned to open bias by our national broadcaster, you would think that at the very least, this fake footage at the cenotaph is legally questionable during an election campaign. I donât think this would have happened even two years ago at the last election, at least there was a semblance of fair play. But now, they are quite blase about clearly showing their bias, one lot of public schoolboys helping another lot of public schoolboys get elected. Corbyn and the Labour Party are not just fighting the Tories, some right wingers and media connected âGrandeesâ in his own party, the overwhelming majority of the MSM, they are now also fighting the national broadcaster, who, although legally obliged to give equal and fair coverage, are clearly in practice doing no such thing. You really would think that people would be concerned about this state of affairs, but it appears not. Sad.
And allowing a few weeks of equal(not impartial) air time almost cost them two years ago. Wonât let that chance of democracy rear itâs ugly head again will they.
