Democracies try and push democracy onto places. Some of those places have evil Dictators but often they are keeping a Nation state together. When those evil Dictators are removed in this region especially a greater evil has come to the fore & far FAR more innocent people have suffered.
Now ridding us of evil is a very good thing but it takes time & money to rebuild all the clean civil structures, democracy doesn’t vote for that so the West has tended to run away. Leaving more years of evil.
Now. The problem then comes when you look at Benevolent Dictators. They build nations with a view and policy and strategy that is longer than 4 or 5 years. People get screwed by people tgerecas much as elsewhere, but should the West fight to destroy that? Wouldn’t a benevolent long term leader who only has the Nation at heart be better?
Would (for a silly example) the Queen have allowed you to invade Iraq? Allow Bankers to go unpunished for destroying so many lives? Let the NHS die while bailing out said banks & giving big contracts to friends for HS2 with money the NHS needs?

I am considering a Trump ban of my own. We will not watch him (plus his sidekicks) on our TV /tablets or listen to him on Radio in our home. As with Trump I am not winning this ban currently. I didnt appreciate listening to Kelly Anne Conway this morning whilst in bed as my partner wanted to watch whatever car crash interview she’d done. He did conceded that was a step too far. I’ve had to leave the front room due to the rally.
