Basically we have to either widen it, turn back the tide, reduce the maritime traffic to give the US priority or get the French to stop the migrants - the first two options are more likely than the last.
We can invade Calais and then take back what used to be the British bit of Northern France and then instead of like the Dutch land reclamation we do the opposite with the French coast and widen the channel.
