For all his talk about saving America, his primary thought will be to save his own skin by dismissing charges against himself, pardoning himself and persecuting his opponents. Only one interesting point: he has to be sentenced for his convictions before his inauguration (although he’ll try to delay) and could theoretically be in prison for his inauguration.
The democrats did overdo trying to nail him legally - it reminded me of Labour trying nail corbyn early into his leadership - they chucked so much insignificant stuff about that was easy to deflect, that the real humdingers that might have done for him got lost in the noise.
Same with Trump - if they had thought about it, there are one or two cases that would really hamstring him without it looking like a witch hunt, but every state AG has political ambitions and wanted to make a name for themselves.
Now he has his finger on the legal trigger, the democrats will be a bit hypocritical if they start grizzling about the justice system being weaponised against them.
If I were one of the people that crossed Trump, I would seriously be considering living abroad for the next 4 years

We’re hardly in a position to criticise, tbh. I genuinely can’t remember the last UK administration that wasn’t absolutely shit.
Whatever you think of him, and there’s plenty to go on, it can’t be denied he’s very good at defining his message and corralling people to vote for him. It might be complete bollocks, but it works. Aided and abetted by a useless Democratic campaign that didn’t know how to handle him, was subservient to Biden’s hubris, had no specific message and failed to see past their core vote.
Only time will tell what it means for the rest of the world.

I’m delighted that Ed Davey is the only British politicians to call him out for what he is - "a dangerous, destructive demagogue who actively undermines the rule of law, human rights, international trade, climate action and global security.
