A woman was trampled to death while carrying a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag
A man had a heart attack after he accidentally tased himself in the balls

Bloody hell. I go away for a few hours and the thread has been Barry’d.
For what it’s worth, my opinion is that there’s no doubt the intention was to disrupt the counting and cause the process to fail. Once the paperwork and congress personnel were safely taken away, that had to fail.
I think the security camera footage of a Republican congressman opening a security door to let the mob in will become interesting.

Just watched the ITV interviews with Trump supporters. The delusion is mind-boggling. I switched off at “he’s not a politician - he tells the truth”. WTF.

This does set aninteresting precedent
You now have private individuals deciding what access to the public politians have - they are exerting editorial control. Bit hard to argue that they are just a platform and not responsible for the content now

It may come out, but I did say “opinion”.
The video of the Trump family celebrating as the rioters got in certainly gave me impression that the Trumps were pleased with something going to plan.

I agree. I fully approve of Twitter’s action in this case as it’s clear Trump has long used the platform to spread and encourage misinformation and false news, lapped up by his moronic mob. Hopefully, without the lifeblood of incitement and official-looking statements from their cult leader some of the conspiracy theories mat start to wane, but I’m probably bring too optimistic.
But, as you say, how does Twitter decide a threshold has been crossed to the point that censorship is justified? And should it be their responsibility? I think this case is clear, but there must be thousands falling into a grey area.
Anyway, good riddance.
