I’ve got a Facebook “chum” that I met through another Facebook group. He is full on right-wing mental. He believes that they’re going to have another civil war, and he wants the US to invade Britain on account of me pulling him up on all his nonsense.
I call him an adult Eric Cartman to his face. He wears it as a badge of honour. There are plenty like him.
Where or why do you think that attitude develops? Brainwashing at school? They worship their military with religious further and any criticism of the american way of life is seen as treason. Fucking bonkers.
It’s systemic ignorance. These people live in neighbourhoods full of people that are just like them, watch news channels which are targeted at people just like them and with whitey in particular, there is a big fear that they’re about to lose the internal supremacy that caucasians have enjoyed since arrival.
It’s a tinder box.
and tonight’s breaking news… Trump on a recorded interview in early February saying he knew how serious/deadly Covid19 was, that he knew it was airborne and admitting he downplayed it to the American public. That in itself should bring down a president. I suspect instead he’ll get re-elected.
And even if it doesn’t, the political systems of the US and the UK seem to ensure that we get to vote for two cheeks of the same arse, and boy, don’t we know it now?
Decent people need not apply for positions of leadership.

Interesting, but will this actually make any difference to the forthcoming election? Trump’s supporters will either believe that it’s all fake, or that it’s perfectly OK anyway. Or both. But will revelations of this sort influence the all-important swing voters? Fuck knows; I’m certainly making no predictions.
