However, the White House statement did not make any reference to the comments being sarcasm.
On Friday afternoon, Mr Trump told journalists: “I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen,”

Well if he needed to even think about whether this was a good idea or not is equally as worrying - I mean we put these things out of reach of children and pets for good reason… as others have said given he is such an obvious fucktard, what does that say about those that voted for him?

I think the more worrying angle would be to believe that he was being sarcastic during a briefing about the disease that is ravaging his country to see what reaction he could get from journalists who would then, at best write what a twat he was or worst, parrot that the President thinks people should inject disinfectant.
Sarcasm at such a grave time is not a valid defence.

It’s such an obvious lie. How does he think he’ll get away with it? It’s like promising to carry out 100k tests per day then pretending you meant it was just capacity for 100k tests and hoping nobody notices.

He gets away with it because His supporter don’t know any different and will believe it because it’s on FOX. For his supporters he has created a perfect urban myth around Fake News and so they will shrug off this story as just another Liberal CNN BS story…
