:tories: Tories in trouble?

The usually mild mannered and understated Mark Drakeford telling the Tory leader in Wales, Andrew RT Davies his fortune in the Welsh Senedd today. So refreshing to see a bit of passion from a real Labour politician, these lying arrogant Tory bastards need more of it.

Following all the gaffs, retractions etc of the Tory party over the last few weeks, I now begin to look forward to the next general election to see all those lying sycophants lose their seats, wailing and regretting having got rid of Boris.
Also looking forward to a Labour government with a fairly heathy majority.

Would prefer Lib Dems - in my constituency to get rid of Dim Dom - but would settle for anything but the Tory Party

It was always going to have a negative impact on the economy, anyone thinking otherwise is a fool.
Likewise anyone who believed that a Remain vote was a vote for the status quo, as widely portrayed during the campaign.

However, as I’ve long argued, the question put to the public wasn’t “do you think you’ll have more money by staying part of the EU, or more money by leaving it?” It was “should the UK remain in the EU?” The piece assumes that the only factor anyone ought to have taken into account when voting was the impact on their own bank account, and nothing else. It reminds me of the rush to privatise the mutuals back in the 80s/90s, not to mention privatisation of the utilities and transport networks. Financial gain in the short term soon lost it’s gloss then, and if you look at the state of our energy, rail and banking now it’s hard to argue that greed should have won the day as it did then.

So vote leave took everyone for fools then, because i don’t remember them saying leaving the EU would have a negative impact on the economy during their canvassing. Unless i missed it, it was all extra cash for the NHS and sunny uplands and spanking new trade deals and freedom from red tape.

I said anyone who believed it was a fool. And anyone who believed that the UK would retain it’s existing status within the EU, as portrayed by Remain, was also a fool.

So by by virtue of that you say anyone who canvassed to leave by saying it was economically advantageous was lying and anyone who bought those lies is a fool. Revisionist crap, if you ask me. Hannan et al were on record as saying the UK wouldn’t leave the single market. A position changed by the rampant hardliners who emerged after the vote, drunk on exceptionalism and populist fervour.

Yes, I am. It doesn’t take much nous to see that leaving a large free-trade area was always going to have a negative financial effect on trade, only a fool would believe otherwise. I’m also saying that equally mendacious claims were made by both sides during the campaign, and that in my opinion had both sides been entirely honest with the electorate the result would have still been a Leave vote, but with a larger margin.

Braverman’s been sacked now.

Seems more likely she’s fallen out with Truss and resigned, theoretically because of a minor breach of the Ministerial Code, but on the basis of her letter, this was a deliberately crafted excuse and actually she thoroughly disagrees with the direction of this ludicrous government.

Or if she’s genuine, it’s a real swipe at those who don’t accept responsibility for their errors.
