:tories: Tories in trouble?

It is nothing to do with MPs or Cabinet.
It is all about the donors.
When they think he will stop making them money he will be gone

Him and the current Mrs Johnson will be supergluing themselves to the gold wallpaper as we speak!

I think they’ll manage to get him out within the year, despite him winning the no confidence vote and there being a year’s grace afterward.

The route involves forming a new 1922 Executive and then that body voting on a rule change.

And that should be enough, but buffoons do have a habit of turning into dictators. It may depend on how much Carrie likes the drapes at Number 10.

Yes, I reckon that’s likely to happen. And it may even happen pretty quickly. But that counts as prising him out, not him resigning.

Yeah I don’t think he’ll resign but I have been wrong before. You need shame or principles to resign as a minister and I don’t think he has either.

My guess is that he will resign, and pretty quickly. When he does, it won’t be because he wants to but the party hierarchy will have locked him in the room with the loaded pistol and told him to get on with it. I’ve disagreed repeatedly when people have said ā€œhe can’t survive thisā€ up to now. But he really can’t survive the loss of his Chancellor plus another prominent cabinet minister.

Another resignation this morning, a minor PPS, but still another one…the house of cards is tumbling.

Another minister gone too.

From the BBC

ā€œ A No 10 source said the new chancellor was ā€œmore dynamic and more alignedā€ with Mr Johnson, and described the new health secretary as a ā€œmassive upgradeā€.ā€

Smacks of sour grapes and having a pop at the leavers or desperately grasping at straws. A bit of both probably, but I don’t think anyone’s fooled by it.

He was the poor sod no10 threw under the bus on Monday

It’s like football fans when the star striker leaves to your rivals.

Never rated him, one trick pony, better off without him

3pm this afternoon ought to be a giggle - Boris is up in front of the Liaison committee

Even if you discount all of the opposing party MPs, his enemies will out number his allies.

Could be proper popcorn stuff

Apparently Boris is quoted as saying ā€œPincher by name, Pincher by natureā€ but he denied saying it, which turned out to be an outright lie.

Did he deny saying that?

Only reason I ask is because I heard a critic specifically saying that he hadn’t denied it.

I think he didn’t confirm or deny maybe…

He was asked directly and he gave an answer that didn’t address the question

Javid making a personal resignation statement in the commons this afternoon.

I reckon Johnson is on for one of the worst afternoons of his life
