What a shame for Dominic Cummings.
If he’d actually been Prime Minister, and not just had his hand up the arse of the Prime Minister, he might have lifelong 24/7 protection.
As it is, he’s out on his ear and actually quite recognisable for a baldie.
“… Sources say Mr Lewis was the victim of a(nother) power struggle - after personnel changes at the heart of government last week.
In particular, it seems Mr Lewis found it hard to work with another special adviser, Henry Newman, who was brought into the Number 10 operation last week.
Mr Newman is extremely close to the prime minister’s fiancée, Carrie Symonds…”
She’s obviously restricting old mop head when it comes to getting his leg over. Do what she wants and he’s on a promise. I reckon he’s on a weekly Sunday morning promise and that’s why he never wants to appear on Marr!
Can only see it having long term ramifications
International companies see EU blocking their trade.
Hmmm, rather than defend the case and win the Tories pay out and state the allegations are not proven. So, that’s alright then and Patel remains in post. That’s a lot of money to swerve a bullying case.
Just following up CB, you were right to be sceptical about his principles. Can’t say I blame him really, It’s a tidy sum.
Could be a nice little cottage industry idea there.
I don’t blame him and I suspect he has got the result he was angling for
The govt can do without the acrimony of a case going to tribunal and he knew it and used it to get a result
Very few executives get sacked - their employment is brought to an end with a mutually acceptable bung
I am prepared to believe that not every Tory MP is an utter arsehole, but by Christ, where do they get these robotic twats that they keep sending onto Question Time from?
So the Fire Safety Bill back in parliament today after Lords sent it back with amendments. Once again voted down by the Tory majority. On the cladding twitter that I follow which seems to include some very angry Tory voters whose investments may bankrupt them. Mr R Smith of Southampton is one Tory MP campaigning for leaseholders not to pay it all. I wonder how many flats he has that are clad? Maybe I am cynical.
The Tories can fuck off with their pretensions of freedom of speech.

I think those moaning about the demonstrations in Bristol are unaware that we are governed by consent or how demonstrations play into that.
A demonstration is a group of people that have come together in a public space specifically to say that they do not consent. The new anti-protests bill criminalises your right to do much of that.
I don’t agree with the tactics of some “demonstrators”. I don’t know if they’re nutters that just want a ruck or plain-clothes coppers looking to cause one. Probably a bit of both. Either way, it’s the authorities’ wet dream come true; it devalues the cause.
What is undeniable is that since the 1980s, the authorities have treated dissenters as “the enemy”. We saw it during the miner’s strike, especially at Orgreave. We saw it at Hillsborough. We saw it at Sarah Everard’s vigil. Since 1990, over 1400 people have been killed by the police with very few convictions.
Government by consent isn’t held up by the police; it can’t be. There aren’t enough of them. That’s why they call it the thin blue line.
It’s held up by most of us every day being decent citizens and not creating police matters. The police aren’t keeping you safe. You are. They’re there to clean up the mess after something has already happened.
Some need reminding that both the police and the government work for us, not the other way around. They can’t do their jobs without us or our consent.
If everyone decided they wanted to be in a post-apocalyptic Mad Max gang tomorrow, there’s not enough Old Bill to stop us.
So we live in very dangerous times when our police and government employees can legally beat us and lock us up for saying “I do not consent”.

And?
Nothing will happen.
Again.
Sadly.
Has anyone coined “Fishy Rishi” yet?
Like it. It’s a stayer. Unlike Sunak, who if he has been a nawty fucker, will be out of favour with the '22 to replace Mr Shambles, when he can’t get anymore cash from his Chums to finance his numerous nippers through Eton.
You never know. Every now and again a scandal of this type will blow up and claim a few high-level scalps. This may not be one of those, but there’s a few of the necessary ingredients there.
The Kray twins must be looking down thinking they missed a trick by not joining the Tory Party.
