Yep, this was being discussed on R4 last night. Seems a collision course with escalating the conflict if it is meant as a real thing rather than something to bargain over.
Mind you at the same time they were talking about the need to bring them properly up to NATO / Ukraine spec (& training I think) which would take some time, so not an immediate thing.

If I was Vlad right now Iâd be asking my team how to stop this from happening. The fact it has been plastered everywhere we will send them to Ramstein adds to his options.
I get they are needed and it is a solution, but this sounds like it was drafted by Lawyers and not sure Vlad cares.
Equally, I am sure the UK reaction would be âwell that was their decisionâ âwe are forming a focus groupâ âwe will have a Parliamentary enquiryâ before actually coming to help IF this goes wrong.

My feeling of doom level just went up another notch
Fog of war, disinformation and blackout of social media on the Russian side is making it very difficult to judge whatâs really going on in Ukraine so all we can really do is hypothesise for the time being. With that in mind my hypothesis is that all this noise and outrage coming from the West about pulling Macdonaldâs, sending Mig 29âs, throwing cats out of beauty pageants, sanctions, sending nappies, etc. etc. etc. is pure distraction to hide the fact the Ukrainians are completely outgunned and on their own in the only way that really counts in this situation. The Russians are ploughing through, ticking off their strategic objectives one by one and sooner or later Zelensky is going to be fucked, doomed into exile on his private equatorial island with only the millions stashed in his pandora papers bank accounts for company. Putin is going to get exactly what he recently asked for and then only two possibilities remain:
A) He invades Finland in 2030 shortly after the formal collapse of NATO, he will do so in alliance with the recently deneutralised successor nation to Ukraine and the successor to Azov Batallion will be leading the charge for Russia much like the Chechens have done in this war. Barry is never proven right about anything nor will he ever be.
Or
B) Putin dies of agonising bum cancer with a really sad face proving that Barry was right all along.

For a start only hours after being written its wrong, of course the US arenât going to allow planes from NATO into a war zone, think about that for a second?
The US (note not Europe) can wait this out and effectively bankrupt Russia from afar, their trade with China is approx 10/1, the US knows this, Chinas knows this (theyâll start to distant themselves if itâll cost them as they have a middle class to keep happy).
The fog of war as you put it is from Russia, giving 15 years for apparently dissent, protests daily, western capitalist companies moving out, rouble not worth anything at all so it doesnât seem foggy at all, Putin is in well over his shiny little plump head.
Fascist Putin can try all he wants but heâll never control Ukraine, not in a million years, heâll have to enjoy the final days of his imperialist life in Siberia spending the billions heâs stolen from the nation.
I think that can be put to the sidelines as there is a distinct possibility for a World War.
Maybe, but arguably no need for one - itâll be a bad miscalculation / fuck up (by the US and UK) if it leads to that tbf
