đŸ‡ș🇩 The War/Invasion in/of Ukraine

This is an interesting debate.

The last thirty years would have been quite different had similar sanctions had been applied so widely to the US.

Are they pro invading z wearers? If not let them in if they denounce Putin and his invasion.

In your shoes, I might go out and find out the answers to those questions myself.

I’d find out that Spiked have long been a channel on YouTube, and that in general, they’ve been incredibly critical of Putin and that their interests fall largely within the free speech agenda.

They are just commenting on how we’ve really both dropped the ball on this issue.

What you ended up choosing, foaming off at the mouth without any effort of your own, was expected.

Isn’t Spiked that magazine that invented middle eastern journalists? Quoting right wing rags Pap tut tut.

Barry, I’m 47. I can handle and listen to a competing opinion and I listen to sources from all over the political spectrum, from here and elsewhere.

Asks, knowing the answer.

Don’t you?

No Pap you’re pulling a dubious source as you happen to agree with it, there is a huge difference between using say a reputable right wing source and one that went bankrupt after printing crap.
You post away and I’ll put holes in it.

How does that work then? You’re simultaneously dismissing it and asking me what it’s all about.

It looks like you’re punching yourself.

Hardly, I’m simply putting you up for a using a source that defends Katie Hopkins and Tommy Robiinson.

Good one.

As I said, they’re a freedom of speech outfit. Freedom of speech is freedom for the thought you hate.

What would you suggest happen to Hopkins and Robinson?

Oh freedom of speech is great but I wouldn’t quote a piece from such a place as I happen to agree with it, you going to quote the sun next?

I didn’t actually quote anything.

You’re a fucking moron and I have better things to do with the remainder of my Bank Holiday.

Pap I think I’ll send you to the dictionary on what quote means, why do you struggle with your own language?

I’ll ask again as you conveniently ignored this question.

So you’re going to quote the sun if you agree with them?

You learn something every day.

So, according to this logic any post is an opinion.

Gonna re-read both the When I saw this threads in new light from now on.

Of course a post is an opinion unless its a fact.

A fact is 5+4=9
Russia invaded Ukraine
Putin is a fascist cunt

An opinion is
Russia is doing ok
Russia is free
Putin isn’t a mad cunt.

They’re the mini javelin and NLAW’s welcoming party.

Sounds legit. Not.

@Polski_Filip - have you seen the places in Krakow the author refers to.

Nope.
And not sure they’d survive if they operated the same way. Poles don’t haggle, or tip.

The Lviv place looks tone deaf, and is obviously supported by tone-deaf people.

You’ve lived in Eastern Europe long enough to know that most countries are fairly nationalist. Natural after being under the control of the Soviet Union for so many decades. You’ll also know that sometimes, that nationalism doesn’t manifest itself in very nice ways.

I could not imagine this restaurant being able to operate in Western Europe, and rightly so. I am not surprised that it operates in Lviv.

The bazbot virus will hijack this, but there are differing forms of nationalism. Poland is labelled Nationalist, but that is a UK filter, the reality is closer to pride hence the small n.
Yesterday was Flag day, a celebration of being Polish a nation. We have our flag up as does every house in the village & the town centre & buses are all decked out.
It is alien to Brits as the past 30 years, have seen pride in being British eroded, undermined and even shamed.
Here we have a nation that is basically only just over 40 years old. So much to overcome from the corrupt era and so much to change.

It is simply not possible to apply labels as the politics of the City are so different from the Countryside.

I like their pride. If it becomes something else I wont like it
