Anyone using this yet?
I have been using it for a week and am a bit blown away.
My daughter is using it too in her line of work.

Am already a bit blown away by (work provided) Co Pilot.
Once you get to grips with what to ask it to do and how you should ask, its bloody brilliant
Google is fine their AI is fine for me. Eg it helped me organise & plan my day trip - airport stuff, dropping off the package, Thameslinkticket to break the journey, shopping park/Aldi, how to embarrass Easyjet politely when they told me I had no seat (“by EU Law, you have to rebook me on the next flight which is Ryanair”)
Perfect for my now small world
Mrs P_F is a recruitment thingy and Chat GPT is a huge part of making her very good at it.
Yeah, and I’ve noticed the semi-literate idiots I manage have started using it and their work has gone from Janet & John to almost decent work - but still making the mistake of passing it off as their own work still. (& not removing the American spelling and not bothering to reformat the text into something acceptable to clients)
Fucknuts
Yep I have noticed applicants using it to apply for roles, but again failing to take out the Americanisms or even the questions that AI comes back to you with.
Utter fucknuts = automatic bin
Well, Claude is the next step from a Chat Bot, and don’t get me wrong, I love me a Chat Bot too.
I’m doing something called agentic development at the moment. It’s going to kill a lot of the software as a service industry.
Someone asked Claude to look at Adobe’s stuff and just rewrite it from observations and first principles.
There is now a clone for an entire Adobe suite.
Another thing people have been doing with it is getting it to analyse old games and make new versions of them for PC/
It is a brave and scary new world.
Does it do good porn? Asking for a friend like…
Doubt it.
It wouldn’t generate a picture of Tommy Robinson outside a gay bar on content grounds.
But it could turn off every freezer in every step of the global food supply chain.
But Tommy won’t be offended so it’s all good

Am I correct to be really quite worried about the pace at will it will change things? I’m not too fussed about me, as I’m plodding along the final furlong work wise, but i’m more worried for the kids and their futures? Nipper worked in software development before quitting and taking a few months off to go to travelling until the end of the year. His ex-employer hasn’t taken on any new graduates for the last two years and the last few years intake were relying on AI for their coding, which was, according to him, full of holes which he had to fix. But AI will obvs improve and the logical conclusion is that these jobs will become redundant. What the fuck do they do after that with 60k worth of debt and a degree that doesn’t lead to a career?
At least in my industry AI can’t yet dig a hole and fill it with concrete, tile a roof or tack a wall.
Or stand around drinking coffee and scratching its balls (my job!).
In IT we have an 80-20 thing, that is 80% of the work takes 20% of the time, the other 20% takes a lot longer.
For me this is where AI doing these tasks is at, the first 80% has flown out. The harder tasks will take a lot longer.
I guess coding can be done with AI but the UI design needs to have a human eye to make it look nice. Otherwise everything is going to look exactly the same!
Actually having been a presenter at the 1st Middle East Datacenter Dynamics Conference , it is all going to come down to Infrastructure, Racks, HVAC Bricks Mortar, Gen Sets & UPS’S
As Google found out yesterday. The hardware (& Capital) won’t be able to keep up.
And the public won’t let new ones destroy their lives
AI takes over the world or the next financial crash because of the Bubble?
Or it all works out? One of the moves could be Magnetic Tape storage for Data.
Plants are reopening, reduces demand for SSD’s and power/water to the racks
Fujifilm Bets $63M On 100TB Magnetic Tape Storage As AI Data Swells

We are slowly getting grips with it
the fact that a salesman can ask it show that the month by month sales for their client, break it down by service line and then stick it in a graph without having to go anywhere near accounts is impressive
As is their ability to ask it a question our our policies eg what paternity leave am I entitled to and how do I apply for it without pestering HR
Kid Goat is working with severely autistic children. So far she has been bitten, puked on and shat on. She’s hoping AI takes her job.
I had a version of this lying about my machine since I first started putting it together during gardening leave in 2023.
I’ve used Codex, another AI agentic pregramning tool, to build it out and polish it a bit.
Doesn’t matter that I’m visually impaired. Doesn’t matter that I’m a shiftless bastard when outside of work.
Grunt work just got trivial.
Aye but despite the challenges, that is so worthwhile a vocation. Never easy, but rewarding. Hats off to Kid Goat
