šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø šŸ’£ The US Presidential Race

And, make up your mind. Either agenda is a good thing or bad. You were telling me recently everyone has their agenda, and that can’t be seperated from the person. Or is it just ok for you to peddle your agenda, and not anyone else. What is this agenda btw? Saying racist fascists are bad? That seems to get your back up, why is that?

In what way does this story show that India is not a democracy? People vote in free elections, so it’s a democracy. Corruption and unfair treatment on individuals don’t mean it’s not a democracy. If your mate is Indian (which I assume he is) and lives in Goa, then how come he can’t get an Indian passport? Do the authorities want to keep him in India?

Final question. What on earth has this got to do with the US presidential campaign?

Because he doesn’t have a birth certificate and can’t get one so therefore he can’t get a passport, India is a democracy but we came onto that as Modi is a Hindu Nationalist and got elected on that platform, Muslims are alreasy bearing the brunt there of Hindu Nationalism.

India labels itself as the World’s largest deomcracy which I can say is bollocks as my Muslim mate who lives in Goa can not get a passport as he is Muslim and from a lower caste I kid you not, he is married to an Enlgish lady and they have a child and they can live here if they choose (they wont as they have a business out there and are very happy) but he cant get an Indian passport without huge bribes.

So, India is a democracy but it’s not a democracy. Yep, makes perfect sense. And what does this have to do with the US presidential campaign?

Because I stated why are people going after Trump (rightly) but not Modi and many others? India is democratic for a few yes, the same as it is for many around the World, not for all no not a chance.

Uhm… i am not getting suspicious that no one has ever seen a picture of Barry and Donald Trump in the same room… could they actually be the same individual? :lou_surprised:

He has better hair than me and less money…

So there’s no connection at all then, except in your own world, where any statement castigating anybody has to be followed by statements castigating everybody else who may ever have done anything less than totally wonderful. If you’re going to have a go at Modi, surely you have to go after Musharaf as well? And how about Islam Karimov? You’ve never mentioned him in a single post as far as I know.

Barry is confused because he believes he has identified a double standard on the Goa case. I don’t think they’re really the same thing. The situation in India has always been complex with regard to the constituent religions that make it up. I’m in no position to deny the passport story, and wouldn’t seek to, but if it did go down, then that’s probably something that did not happen overnight. It’s a consequence of years of relationships, enmity, democratic votes or whatever.

Trump is a madman with a chance of taking over the most heavily armed nation in the world. Off the top of my head, two of his policies bear dangerous hallmarks with one of the most oppressive regimes the planet has ever seen, notably the identification of Muslims already living in the US, and banning any further Muslims from entering the US.

So in the India situation, we’ve got a continuation of traditional enmities perhaps made worse by the election of a nationalist Hindu politician. In the US case, we’ve got a sea change in the country’s outlook, philosophy and soft power - at odds with the constitution Trump would be sworn to uphold. If he is elected, he’ll be in charge of that vast military empire, holding those rather simplistic views.

That’s why people are a little alarmed at fascist statements coming from a US Presidential candidate. That’s why no-one is going after Modi. I trust that the differences have now been explained satisfactorily to Barry’s comprehension.

I think you’re possibly being a tad optimistic there, Your papship. :lou_lol:

Petition to bar Trump from entry to the UK passes 100,000 mark, it’s now *GOT* to be discussed in Parliament

I’m not confused at all, the hypocracy makes me laugh, Trump is only saying what people want to hear and is soaring in the polls, I’d be more concerned with the intelligece of the US electorate than a Billionaire spouting populaist imporbable shite, I’m amazing the gullible on here have swallowed it.

So in short the World and the vast majority of its Nations are Nationalist bar the UK? We are the most tolerant Nation on the planet or dam near one of them which is great so we should shine a light on all racist, homophobic and sexist Nations and ideals, I’m all for that but the sandal wearers wont do it for fear of upsetting people…

In about a year’s time, we’ll come top of Google’s natural search rankings for the term ā€œsandal wearersā€.

And we shall be proud :lou_facepalm_2:

On the off chance that Ms Sanchez reads this over your shoulder, can you please switch Barry off and back on again please?

He seems to be stuck in a loop.

Oi pap, seriously can we have something to prevent every fucking thread getting derailed by imaginary foes and buzzwords?

Discussion gets stifled so often by this bullshit. The Presidential race is an interesting topic, like many others it gets lost in this nonsense.

I have sympathy with your frustration, KRG. I did say I was going to start downvoting him whenever he used the term. That all said, Barry does set himself up to be taken down beautifully these days. Perhaps posters enjoy the underarm option.

I would invite Barry to reconsider his content though, because it is becoming the same shite on almost every thread, offering very little insight, while the man himself does a poor job of qualifying his actual views on here.

what does down voting achieve? I’d bet $$$ that come end of year we know who will have received the most.

You knew what Barry does, it’s the exact same as on swf when it was always Cortese, Clappers or Gaston. Yet, you courted him and encouraged it.

What’s the point in trying to discuss anything? It seems pointless at the moment. Much like the point it got to on swf.
