That’s what we’re about to get.

Going out on penalties to The Neutrals.

Apart from Shaqiri, all those Swiss pens were terrible.

Any idea when we’ll start playing like prospective trophy winners?

We wont because we aren’t

We’ll win the final - on penalties….

Genuinely can’t believe the team has progressed so far tbh.

i’ll leave that here

Get the fuck in. Bloody brilliant. Nothing else matters

Thing is, that is why we wont win the final… we will beat a second rate Netherlands or Turkey for sure, but because we dont ever seem to have a style of play we have consistently worked on and applied as a winning formula. Its no surprise to me that the winners of the WC and euros usually have a side that developed its one style with a side that is pretty consistent over 3-5 years. England still chop and change too much and then get lucky draws then assume we are Great…

The lack of style of play is to bewilder the opposition, but it has the side effect of bewildering the team as they’re not the sharpest tools in the box tbf…

Switzerland looked far more dangerous than us every time they got close to our box. That fucking corner was the obvious example, when we played it short and got gently pressed back to Pickford because we didn’t have a clue what to do with the ball. What’s the use of having the “best strikers in the world” if they don’t get the ball in the area? The Swiss were actually attacking the area with crosses and incisive passes into the box, we got very lucky several times.

We have the talent, we have desire, but not the ability to make the most of it. I know you guys hate him… but with with these attacking players a manager like Klopp would have us as real. contenders… yes we would loose a few 4-3, but we would be a scary proposition for any side

The same view as a couple of Germans I was talking to in a bar in Istanbul the other day

I think Martin will be one of a very English managers in the Prem, so our choices for an English manager are limited… but why is it that we dont produce managers that still see the number one priority as entertaining and scoring goals? Ultimately if you play that way with the talent we have… you will win much more than you lose and whatever happens will have fantastic support throughout …

I think our problem is ‘trial by media’ who have installed a fear in our managers…. we play to avoid defeat, rather than try and spank the opposition
