Its the lack of vision, a huge lack of vision that its always had, the waterfront could be opened up in places, St Marys could have a train station, there is nothing that makes it stand out and getting an ikea in the city centre says an awful lot about aspiration.

How much revenue is lost when the big ships come in and all the punters from those buy 1st singles to wherever?
Why not keep them in the City or try to at least.
This is why they shit themselves at Liverpool trying to grab a share as there is 100 more things to do in Liverpool as there is in Southampton and the council try to keep them here, what do we do, give them an ikea and student housing to look at.
We’re shortsighted, unambitious and quite frankly boring.
There really isn’t anything unique about the place and there should be, Brighton has the lanes and the nightlife, Bournemouth the beach and also nightlife.
