Boufal’s 1st actual rant was at Puel. We had a dull losing team, he scores a worldy against WBA and screams PLAY ME at the bench.
He is labelled as having an attitude problem…

He is the one returning player who the fans still hold faith and hope in, due to his obvious talent. Big if but if Ralph could do a similar restoration job with him as he did with Redmond then we’d have a useful player with commercial value on our hands. Imagine teaching Boufal to be direct, when to dribble and when to release the ball…
He has however fallen out with every manager he has worked with at Saints but he’d be a brave lad to mess about with Ralph. I’m not convinced he has the discipline of character to be a Ralph player but at the same time I wouldn’t put anything beyond the powers of Mr Hasenhüttl.
The fact that Boufal, Cedric and Hoedt have all come back and appear to be included in Ralph’s immediate plans, does this suggest that they want a seat on the Ralph Express? That they are putting in the hard graft to prove to him they can be relied upon, after seeing what he did last year?
Personally I’d still be surprised to see them all still here come the end of the window but you never know.
Perhaps we have been put off by the market and aren’t seeing the right players available for realistic prices so Ralph is willing to work with what is already here again.
We still don’t need 3 senior goalkeepers though and Austin, Carillo and Lemina will surely go one way or the other. So we can still expect some movement.
