Seems very much in the Mane mould according to this.

On a positive note…he seems to speak French fluently…and he has a great command of footballing cliches…

I think it will be a mistake to sell Targett. He may not be up to the standard of an on form Bertrand (a rarity of late) but he is way ahead of Vokins.

It’s a tough one. I’ve never seen Vokins play to be honest so I can’t comment on that aspect.

I do find Targett very inconsistent though. He’ll have a good game and then a few ropey ones. He can cross a ball but personally I don’t think he is dynamic enough for Ralph’s style.

If you accept some of the rumours then there seems to be a good 5 or 6 clubs reportedly interested in him so it could be that he is available and his agent/the club are trying to drum up interest to maximise a fee?

Ultimately I guess we are in a situation where we can only reinvest what we receive in sales and until clubs start knocking on the door to sign Hoedt/Forster/Carrillo etc we will have to consider selling more desirable assets. And a second choice left back is expendable, at least in the short term.

Here is God’s take on the situation:

More likely to move Bertrand on I reckon.

He’s had a face like a slapped arse for ages and has had injuries. Still good when on form, but I’m feeling he’s near or just past his Best Before Date.
