Cheers Mot - I will keep an eye out
As for what I like taste wise - it is an orange note - hence Maclean or Remy Martin for cognac

Marmalade? If you could find some, Daftmill lowland 2006 bottled 2018 - loads vanilla and orange and honey - stunning whisky, but very limited supply and so price at auction in excess of Ā£200ā¦(RRP was around Ā£90) Bit of a micro distillery only releasing about 10000 bottles a year.
Defo go for the Peaty Sherry Barreled Oban.
Yes, I did the distillery tour
Sorry cant agree⦠That is the bog standard Oban 14 and like so many of Diageo owned distilleries, they produce what is commonly referred to as mostly āairport/duty freeā malts - stuff that is really there for folks that dont really like whisky, but feel they need to have a bottle in the house. Its not ābadā but its not going to make you love it either. The number of sherry casks in each batch is small and most will be āconditionedā casks. Diageo see this as purely a commodity and so produce whisky for non-whisky drinkers if you know what I mean. Its sad because so many that they own used to be very good, yet now their best casks reserved for ālimitedā release and high price for collectors⦠and even then quite one dimensional
All distilleries on tours will say they still use the ābest casksā which is bollocks because there ares imply not enough ābestā casks around, certainly not 1st fill oroloso or PX sherry, (real as opposed to conditioned). Still great supply of ex-bourbon casks, which add lovely vanilla notes especially to more fragrant lowland style malts.
Dont believe the hype from any distillery tour, especially those owned by Diageo or other globals⦠Cask quality is key and you dont get best casks in 14 year old Oban
Best
WhiskyWanker
I liked it.
As a free sample.
Didnt buy a bottle.
HTH
I found my favourite at an Outlet Mall in Loch Lomond. Langavulin. Nearest Duty Free to that I found was Clynelish
Cant afford to be a Whisky banker and dont actually like heavy peaty Malts
So had the Bunny had Bahrain tonight after a dalmorw tasting flight - is there something in this no colouring no cold filter shit that means I donāt get minging hangovers?
uhmā¦I could BS you with stories, but truth the non-chill filtering is keeping natural āimpurities/oilsā from the cask⦠the lesser hangover is usually only possible if you only drink whisky and donāt mix with beer/wine/gin etc ā¦
I am intrigued who Bunny is as if she can accommodate Bahrain, thatās quite a feat. As for Dalmore⦠They lose loads of points just for the stupid plastic stag, and their normal releases are all coloured and chill-filteredā¦
It was this stuff - I was too pissed to operate auto correct so couldnāt be arsed to correct it
And I proved my theory wrong about the hangovers
That is decent stuff, hope you enjoyed (if not the hangover)

Any marketing samples they could send to Poland for review?
Back when i travelled a lit, Old Pulteney? was voted the best.
Stayed with a mate in scabby dhabi for tge golf for 4 nights. Finished the bottle was lovely.
Then found it at LHR Duty Free for about 20 or 30 quid a bottle.
Only time Iāve briefly owned something so precious
Iāve been waiting for years to see if I would age into a taste for whiskies. Iām now 65 and it has not happened yet. Iām forming the view that it is not going to and Iāll still with port.
I have discovered Bimber before - Moonshine Vodka
This is Bimber Scotch. So technically a single not Malt.
It is mighty fine for the price.
Who knew?
Very dangerous, doesnāt have the back of throat bite, it just goes down WAY too easily
I could provide you with a dram that would at least peak your interest
OK soooo much wrong with thatš
Bimber make single Malt eg. they use Malted barley to distill their whisky as opposed to other (eg rye ) grains or unmalted barley, and it is not blended with malt or grain whiskies from other distilleries
Scotch is only ever made in Scotland whether as a single malt or grain or blended whisky. For it to be classified as Scotch whisky, it must be distilled in scotland and cask conditioned in OAK for a minimum of 3 years and 1 day in Scotland. The oak can have had anything in it previously but either ex bourbon or ex sherry (oloroso or PX are popular) or even ex port pipes are good
Do make a decent Malt - their ExPX is very good
