:fifa_logo:🏆 The Qatar World Cup 2022

Confirmed banned from stadiums - the only way to get a drink at the match is to rent a box for ÂŁ19000

Concerns that the fan zones will be next.

Even if they don’t from the off, a few arrests for drunk and disorderly will put pay to it - even with the 4 pint limit.

I think Qataris have underestimated the ingenuity of a football fan in the quest for getting tanked up

From the Corner, on the same subject

FIFA have confirmed that the corporate hospitality boxes will still be serving alcohol. That’s alright then, hypocritical champagne socialists such as Gary Neville can still get on the MoĂ«t inbetween counting the piles of cash he’s received from the Qatari royal family to temporarily forget his supposed principles.

It’s exactly that sort of hypocrisy which makes me the most angry about this shit fest. Wokegate and his gang of knee taking personality vacuums are more than happy to slate their own people as being racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist etc. Yet give them a sniff of Arabian delight in the form of lucrative side deals (David Beckham, I’m looking at you) and they’re more than happy to play in and promote a country which has the death penalty in place for anyone taking it up the arse.

You have to separate the two
by all means be angry at any hypocrisy, but being ‘awake’ to the fact we do have issues at home with racism, homophobia, transphobia and sexism is a good thing, no matter that only the extreme silliness related to it is actually reported and thus made into an ‘acceptable’ joke
Gary Neville and Beckham being cunts does not mean we can ‘wash away’ the shit we have at home

Wonder if this person was as outraged when Andy Gray and Richard Keys fucked off to Qatar for piles of cash

To be fair to Gray and Keys - they never took the moral high ground. They are more your immoral low ground types

And you’ll probably see many of the “locals” in corporate hostility quaffing alcohol - they seem to do it very well when over here in Knightsbridge and local environs

I think the Qataris’ have played a blinder here.
Months of attacks on their Religious & Cultural heritage and boom, they take away part of football’s heritage.

Gonna be a mess

More messy than a Lionel at a woke footballing drink-fest!

Fuck me, Infantile Infantino lose’s the plot
and talks bollocks for an hour

Yes the western world for years treated the citizens of its empires with an inhuman lack of respect, but that was then, and today whilst we still have issues with individuals who are far from enlightened, we no longer have such barbaric laws
wake up dickhead - you are just an apologist what is no longer acceptable

Well, as I recall, Russia and Qatar were announced as the next two hosts at the same time.

I remember it well because England had a bid in at the same time. I thought both decisions were dodgy but Russia’s less so. It is a footballing nation with established framework and no former Warsaw bloc.

Qatar’s win made Russia’s look dodgier imo, because it strengthened any assertion that decisions were not being made for footballing reasons and it was all about money.

Perhaps it’s time for LIV Football.
The mould needs breaking.

And clearly he was pressured into that speech

FFS I think Infantino is suggesting Qatar should be given free rein for the next 3000 years

“We have been taught many lessons from Europeans and the Western world. I am European. For what we have been doing for 3,000 years around the world, we should be apologising for the next 3,000 years before giving moral lessons.”

3000 years?

I was born in 1975, not 975 BCE

Does this mean that because the vikings were a bit rapey 800 years ago, I have free reign for another 800 years

“Today I have strong feelings. Today I feel Qatari, I feel Arab, I feel African, I feel gay, I feel disabled, I feel a migrant worker.”

What the fuck is he on about

I am pretty sure the last one is inappropriate

Technically he is.

Has anyone seen the Gary Neville Vs Ian Hislop thing on Have I Got News For You?

It looked like Man Utd’s feared right back got crunched tackled and expertly kicked in the bollicks by the last kid to be picked for a playground school team
