This is this annual allowance issue which effects everyone

Everyone gets an annual allowance of Ā£40k of combined employees and employers pension contributions before a enhanced tax rate kicks in

Once you start earning over Ā£110k per year it the annual allowance starts falling until you hit Ā£10k pa once you are earning Ā£150k

The problem the doctors have is that the NHS scheme will be paying in more that this and they are getting hit by tax bills and the scheme, not being flexible is hurting them

They also have another issue in that there is a lifetime allowance of Ā£1m for pension pots and most doctors with hit this in their 40s

Not really, that is a reaction to a situation, an acknowledgement would require the Premier to acknowledge it, he didnā€™t.

Any excuse to have a go eh Barry? What world event was this? By their actions so far it is clear that the Chinese authorities are reacting to the threat properly, taking appropriate measures. These things gather pace very quickly, on an hourly basis. Of course this is potentially very serious, but the population of China bears no comparison to the UK. Letā€™s put this into perspective. 571 cases reported with 17 deaths,mostly elderly with existing health problems in a population that dwarfs the UK. Thousands of people die each year from cold related illnesses, such as pneumonia. Last year, in UK alone, over 33,000 people died from cold related illnesses. A goodly proportion of them on trolleys in hospitals because of NHS cuts by our government. Yet as soon as you get a chance to have a go at ā€˜Forrinersā€™ you leap at it. Why is this? Is it because they donā€™t look like us and have slitty eyes, with a government that you donā€™t approve of? It certainly looks that way
Back in 2002, SARS, swine flu, avian flu. SARS caused 800 deaths, but the panic caused a global economic slump. Lets keep the media hysteria and the dire warnings into perspective, and not use this as an excuse for more xenophobia. It may make you feel righteous but it doesnā€™t help.
