šŸ»šŸ· The Map of šŸ‡²šŸ‡· Booze thread whatever the title says (or is changed to when moderately intoxicated)

He does talk some bollocks, doesn’t he. I absolutely love his music but honestly, he’s a fucking prize twat.

Keeps him relevant (i.e. in the news) I guess.

Like those models and ā€œinfluencersā€ who ā€œhave there instagram account hackedā€ resulting in dozens of carefully posed photos of their nether regions appearing online, generating oodles of supposedly unwelcome publicity. And always just when their public profile could use a boost, eh? Cunts. (in every sense )

Good pic, thanks! A long time ago I was a regular in the Alex - my first job was around the corner

I worked over the other side of London Road from 1977 to 1993. Never went there again after getting food poisoning from their Chicken Supreme in the summer of 87. Threw up all over our home cricket ground the next day and couldn’t drink for the first 3 days of the subsequent cricket tour of Somerset.

We used to frequent The Alex at lunchtime but that was back in the late '60s. Kids in a drinking culture downing 3 or 4 pints in the hour for lunch. The more sober option was over the street from The Survey, downstairs in The Kasbah on the Football table.

That must have been hell on earth - not being able to drink that is.

I now have five family members with Covid. All, except a child, triple jabbed. For some bizarre reason, despite contact with all of them, I haven’t succumbed.

Three weeks in and still going strong

I have now discovered non alcoholic spirits

Lyre’s Dark Cane Spiriit and fever tree Madagascar cola makes a passable Rum and coke

Clean co Gin and fever tree light is a decent g&t

And Gordon’s 0.0 and fever tree ginger ale is nice

Welcome to the congregation, brother. You’ll likely find that the Clean and Co ā€œrumā€ is the cream of the crop, you can get it in Tesco or Sainsbury’s. Personally I can’t stand the Gordon’s zero, the Clean gin is ok, but the best I’ve tried is Caleno.

Add some alcohol free wine to your recent forays into beers/spirits and you’ll have your liver back in no time. :+1::+1::grin:

This thread is becoming very disappointing. I am willing to take one for the team and drink a bit more to compensate for you two. Someone has got to keep hospitality going.

I was going to post much the same thing, what has this forum turned in to?? Next we’ll be discussing plant based alternatives to meat…

You might as well get used to it. Booze is the new smoking, our glorious leaders have it set firmly in their sights, with meat on the to-do list. Once those are out of the way and prohibited, they’ll do sugar and gambling, in that order.:rage:
