We have only gone and done it - first holiday in years where it hasnāt bloody rained
Late shift today, decided it was time to 1) get some exercise 2) go solo.
Considering my 'mushroom training level is about primary school Iām blody proud of the haul tbh.
Mainly common forest mushrooms and many about to be cooked with a full English.
For those wanting to have a go spongey bottoms not ridges will see you right
I can see at least 5 there that will give you the galloping shitsā¦but Iām not telling you which ones.
A friend of mineās mother died from eating poisonous mushrooms she had collected in Jersey many years ago when i lived there. His father survived but was very ill in hospital for a long time. You really do have to be very careful. I really do love mushrooms, especially in a fry up, i used to collect field mushrooms when i was a kid and the whole family ate them. Now i only eat the ones from the supermarket shelf.
Theyāre probably the ones covered in dog piss.
Yeah I have a VERY limited range of what to pick out of the 100s of varieties I saw today.
Of the crop I am 100% on 1 type - the common one, not touching any of them until the expert gets home & checks.
Frying some of her stash for dinner.
.
Equally, I am now sure there are quite a lot of another species of mushroom here.
Not touching those either
Donāt worry Phil I donāt have a clue eitherā¦just yanking your chain.
Didnāt stop you fucking moaning about every thing else!
I only moaned about the weirdos next door - the rest was fab
Although the plane was a bit chavvy
I used to like the old magic mushrooms.
These days I survive on @saintbletch shirts. Theyāre like methadone.
Yes i used to enjoy them too, back in the day. A few of us used to go to a field in Bishopstoke of a Sunday morning, small bottle of water, pick em, wash em and then eat them nice and fresh. Then drive to a pub, The Exford in Thornhill for a Sunday lunchtime session. Crazy times.
Personally when i see a pic of Bletch wearing one of his legendary shirts i always think mescaline.
More effeminate if you ask me
Roasts - I bloody love the autumn - it means that proper food is back in the menu
Pork from Beaulieu tonight
Just had roast chicken - first roast dinner for months. Nothing finer.
Weird, I was searching for a decent chicken to roast tonight as well,
Village shop hadnāt been restocked yet so hopefully tomorrow.
Nice (& fliety) group of Dutch Ladies to the airport today, had given them the Rough Guide when took them to town last week.
They were asking if they could have me for all day sessions when they come back lolz, but most importantly gave me a nice bottle of wine AND a cash tip, so yeah, they can come back anytime.
