Well as both Walkers and Lays are owned by PepsiCo Inc they probably are.
In 1989 Frito-Lay, a division of PepsiCo, bought the company. So the snack is sold across America and Europe as Lays. But in the UK and Ireland the bag is branded as Walkers, due to the historic associations of the brand across the British isles,
It is one of the joys of life standing in a convenience store in town watching Brit Tourist going red in the face demanding Walkers Crisps while the shop keeper waves a packet of Lays at them
