Aushwitz Tour.
7 elderly Italians.
None speak English.
Somehow I have conducted the whole tour in German which I learnt up to age 16…
Remarkable

Harsh.

Very harsh. :frowning:

What the tv thing you were on?

No, different thing.
The TV appearance is months away. I’m in series 16, ITV are halfway through showing series 15, there’s about 100 shows to go. Maybe in the autumn

Social media occasionally throws little surprises. Like a cousin I’d forgotten I have posts an 1865 picture of my GG Grandmother…

Mind you, it could be my GG Grandfather in drag. :lou_wink_2:

This is an odd place for this, but then again…maybe not.

I visited my beloved cousin in a nursing home in Selsey, with my sister this morning. An ambulance outside turned out to be for my cousin but they decided she could be treated in residential care so they sat us down with a cuppa while they prepared her for our visit.

It brought back memories of my mother who had a carer who was a saint, just so special she shared my mum’s room when dementia terrors made her frightened to sleep alone. My sister told me something today, my mum’s carer was paid Ā£1 an hour back in the early '90s.

People who work in care are wonderful. Quite frankly watching their endless patience, love and care this morning makes me cry, it did this morning.

Today they get £9.80 and they still love what they do.

Sitting in the Reggae bar on the beach in Koh Chang this afternoon, sipping a Mai Thai cocktail or three after a head massage under the palm trees from a very skilled, sweet Thai lady. One hour massage - 200 baht, less than a fiver. Plus generous tip of course.
Thai guys with full on dreadlocks, it works too. Proper roots reggae tunes too, played at the appropriate volume! It really doesn’t get much better, made all the sweeter because I really didn’t think this would be happening three months ago.
