“only” £1.70, lol :joy::joy::joy:

Couple of days ago I actually caught myself driving past a filling station and thinking “£1.85 a litre?? That’s not bad!!” FFS, they’ve succeeded in brainwashing us :rage::rage:

Bumped into Cornish Tony today at Auschwitz - the other English Tour guide here.
After a few minutes of how ya doings he asked…
You been to Lidl this week?
Hell yeah, the Stilton
And he followed up with “& I bought the entire stock of Irish Bacon”
Ah.

You have cats all wrong, they are loving, caring creatures.

Yep - They love themselves, they care for themselves. Everyone and everything else is shit on their shoe (paw)

Thank goodness it’s dropped 2p from the ridiculous £1.52 yesterday.

This is an independent filling station. They have their own tankers and collect direct from the refinery. No distributor costs. No middle men. The owner told me wholesale prices are dropping at 2p a day at the moment and he passes it all on.

The problem with supermarkets and big chains is that they have high overheads and interim storage, so they’re now selling fuel they bought at higher prices a week or so ago. They won’t drop prices until they’re selling what they’re now buying in. But of course they raise prices instantly the wholesale price increases, despite having lower-priced stock.

At the MG Owners Club in Cambridge. Had the old motor assessed there as part of the membership thing, they look it over in their workshop and give you an opinion on it’s condition. That’s it on the right, coming back from the test drive.

Was an interesting visit. The club shop there is great, and fun to look around all the MGs for sale and being restored. Pleasant afternoon all round, now in Bedford for a couple of days as we’re seeing the Professionals here tomorrow evening (hence the visit to Cambridge.)

It’s a bit small or is that because it’s a long way away?
