Unlikely…most of the route is Autoroute and Autobahn…mind you the run to the show on Friday is in a 200+ aircooled VW convoy…quite a sight. :lou_lol:

This is a video a mate shot on the way to the show in 2005…funny…

That reminds me of when I was an apprentice in Newport South Wales and on traveling back to Southampton we stopped at Leigh Delamare services and had a Burger from the newly opened burger franchise. As I was sat in the back of a VW Beetle it’s very hard to get out or open any windows. Any way about 20 miles down the road I am feeling very Tom Dick and the driver wlil not pull over so my mouth is just about out the little quadrant gap you get on the rear window when my guts let go and pebble dash the near side rear wheel arch.

still the driver would not stop unti he reached home where he promptly requested me to clean his car.

Upon which he got told that as he refused to stop it’s not my fucking problem do it your self.

by the way vomit air dried onto the rear arch of a VW does not come off easily :lou_lol:

This is Rob’s more conventional take on the last show in 2013…once every 4 years…

Great music to accompany the pics too…

Whoops sorry for the highjack…back on topic…you won’t want to get stuck behind this lot on a hot day. :lou_wink_2:

It’s the humidity that does it, foreign heat is normally dry heat so you don’t feel it so much.

You have never been to Singapore then

All heat is good regardless of the humidity.

I refuse to work or live anywhere the average temp is less than 26 deg C

Just don’t mention the war, eh?

The air con has packed up

FFS the stupid system has been bellowing out cold air all through the winter - the first time we need it to do its job, it waves the proverbial two fingers at us.

Bastard air con

Bastard building

Bastard Landlord

Yeah, and who built those wartime vehicles?

Not exactly a revelation to anyone who knows the history of volkswagen or the emergence of Hitler’s people’s car after the war, courtesy of REME.

Oh, that’s alright then.

Rank hath it’s privileges, however that is the maximum amount it opens…

It’s like enjoying a flypast of a Lancaster bomber is not tacit approval of the blanket bombing of civilian areas in the closing stages of WW2.

You have a window?

in my day we were lucky to look at a wall with no paper on it.

Then the Mexcicans took over making then. I believed they only stopped around 10 years ago or so. But you could buy a brand new old style one over there. Or did I dream that up?
