Fun fact. The most deadly accidents happen right after take off. The planes are full of fuel. Explosions are more likely.

This is a miracle.

They all took their carry on baggage to safety!

It would seem that initial reports that all were evacuated was wrong, this was a very deadly crash after all.

Aye, I’ve since seen reports of 40 dying. As I said in my post, these are among the deadliest types of air incident. Saddened, but not surprised.

The plane was struck by lightening apparently. Scary stuff.

Not helped by the insistence of many passengers on attempting to retrieve their stuff from the overhead lockers, thus slowing down the exit from the plane. Apparently this is far more common now than previously, largely as so many people have bags containing laptops, tablets and that like.

Selfish cunts. Their selfishness quite probably killed then, should be done for manslaughter.

Selfish cunts indeed. I find it amazing that anyone could do that, all the more so given that the rear part of the plane was engulfed in flames. Presumably it was mostly those closer to the front of the plane, but that’s just speculation on my part. Sadly, I doubt there’d be any way of establishing culpability; if there were then I’d definitely agree with you - manslaughter charges (or the Russian equivalent) all round.

But that shouldn’t cause any issues, been in a plane hit by lightning a few times, once on final approach about 2,000 ft up, just big bangs and flashes.

unless you have a small fuel leak on one of the wing tanks and pop goes your weasel.

Seen more videos and it would appear that it was an ā€œuncontrolledā€ landing, the second bump was what set the engine on fire…there were problems before the fire which is why it had to return to base for an emergency landing.

Looked to be going real fast as well on that later video

Well this is pretty unacceptable.

Land of the Free in it… the excess of free market economy and limited legislation… soon to be found in post-Brexit Britain…(the real reason those tory fuckers voted Brexit)

What do you think about the way Neil went about questioning him?
Poor Ben looked like he was expecting a book plug and a few easy questions. I’m sure this is what he was advised would happen. Great strop at the end :joy:
