📰 The latest news!

Have you come up for air and looked at the world we live in?

People get offended over stupid shit here all the time. We don’t take heads for it but we will destroy livelihoods because of it.

We are in no position to lecture anyone about taking offence.

How do you know if you are going to be offended unless you see what it is ?

So you won’t condemn this action as you feel we do the same but without taking heads?

Exactly, how do you gauge what is acceptable if you immediately say everything isn’t acceptable unless you agree to it beforehand, how close minded is that?
I’m not too sure to whether you you knew you were stitching yourself up there but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Code for you agree with me but as its Bazza won’t say it.

Remembrance day is coming. Social Media is already full of Gammons taking offence at fake 10+ year old posts about minorities & Poppies
Also, iirc it has long been an offence in UK to cause offence.
In fact it was also an offence to cause offence in most of the EU.

And these people are laughed at, scoffed at and also bullied to the point they voted en masse for Brexit.
Be a humanist, nothing else really matters.

How can you have free speech if it’s an offence to cause offence? The 2 are mutually exclusive

Tolerance in the Western World.

Shit going down now

So Starmer has now bowed to the calls from the Chair of the Conservative Party, Margaret Hodge Ruth Smeeth etc and suspended Jeremy Corbyn from The Labour Party. In the EHRC report there is not one accusation leveled at Corbyn. Not one. So why is Starmer not suspending himself, given that he was on Corbyn’s front bench for the period of his leadership?
Wall to wall Margaret Hodge and Ruth Smeeth on all the news channels today, being allowed to spew their venom without any challenge or right of reply by those who are being slandered.
I wait with baited breath for the report on Tory Party Islamophobia, but i fear it will be a long wait. The EHRC sacked all the black and Muslim commissioners for being “too loud and vocal” on race issues.

Corbyn was not suspended for the conclusions of the report, rather his comments subsequent to its publication and then refusal to retract.

Not sure saying that anti-Semitism in the Labour party was “dramatically overstated” was the brightest thing to say at this point in time.

Who said that?

I condemn anyone setting out to destroy someone else’s life, whether it’s literal or figurative.

What I’m not going to do is multiply heinous acts out to the sum of an entire group of people, nor am I going to pretend that we’re much better.

And where have I done any of that?

This is an attack of freedom of speech via a strand of a faith who are fascist, are you condemning these murders now and attacks on our liberties or will you spew some whataboutery?

Another dumb move with huge consequences.
I get that for 'a child of the CND era" when it was trendy to support Palestinian causes it could affect your vision & DNA.
But how dumb can Jezza be? Here is the report here is the problem.
Response should be we need to work on this.
The response is NOT to basically say there isnt a problem someone is out to get me.
Ffs

That’s not what he said though is it?

No, I’m saying attacks on freedom of speech are happening everywhere. I’m saying that killings are happening everywhere, I’ll add that for much of the past decade, the Conservative government has been aiding and abetting the very head-choppers you so rightfully loathe, including the Manchester bomber.

When Cameron was fucking about in Libya, the British government sponsored and trained Libyan dissident exiles to cause violent uprisings in the last days of Gadaffi, and do you know what Bazza, it’s just a sad case of history repeating itself.

The West sponsored the Muhajadeen, sending covert assistance through the Pakistani. They come back 30 years later as Al Qaeda. Same in Iraq with the death squads that went around destablising the country after the invasion. They either became Islamic State or remained in the SAS.

Two wrongs do not make a right, but equally, facts without context are useless.

My analysis of the situation is hardly original. It should be self-evident to anyone that realises that the world is a bit more nuanced than good guys vs bad guys.

The bigger problem is sorting out who are the real good guys and who are the bad.

I genuinely don’t believe our Government or the USA for that matter fall into the “good” camp, so I guess it’s really about trying to figure out who is less bad?

Who’s saying the World isn’t nuanced? I’m saying and all I am saying is this is an horrific attack on one of the pillars the French Republic and freedom of speech and the right to offend and yet you still give it the “yeah but” and the old whataboutery, you can’t help yourself.
Try giving that reasoning to the relatives tonight.
