The January Transfer Window 2017

Sakho to make decision by the end of the week (sorry for the link to a Mirror article!!)

Mamadou Sakho is set to decide his future in the next 48 hours with Southampton favourites to sign the Liverpool outcast.

Sakho knows he must quit Anfield to relaunch his stalled career and the France defender has attracted interest from Southampton, West Ham, Sevilla and Galatasaray.

Sakho, 26, would prefer to join another Premier League club and is understood to favour a move to Southampton.

Saints are more stable than West Ham and he knows compatriot Claude Puel from playing against him in France.

Love the bit in bold, meltdown what meltdown?

the BBC are reporting that Liverpool want £20m for Sakho. I wouldn’t be happy paying that for him.

Yeah I saw that too! £20m for someone who hasn’t played for them sicen the summer, he’s even training with the U-23s FFS!!

£20million is an awful lot of money for someone that shit.

Especially for someone with a bit of an attitude problem as well as being picked up for use of illicit substances…apparently

let’s look to Europe and get someone for £7-9m who we can improve and sell on for profit. Or spend the money turning Gardos into the six million dollar man (and still have plenty left over for a big party)

Linked with Porto midfielder Sergio Oliveira. This story looks fantastic. Yes, I mean that fantastic. He has a 30m Euro release clause and has only played for Porto 6 times in his career. A star of youth football that failed to live up to his promise, it seems.

But I suppose that is exactly the sort of player that the black box and Les Reed’s ego would look at…

Hmmm… I can’t say I know much about him but this rumour hasn’t gone away since I first heard it about two weeks ago. Not only do we need a CF but we could do with injecting some fresh blood in to the squad to give the rest a boost (or kick up the ass if necessary).

I also read that Stoke have gone in for Berahino again. Surely WBA will just cut their losses at this stage - he has 6 months left on his contract, has a shit attitude and is apparently a fat fuck by all accounts. So WBA will more than likely be after a new striker.

Therefore perhaps this rumour has substance on both fronts.

Well Big Down-Below Bob, posted something from Tancredi Palmeri, who is usually very well connected, saying that we had definite interests.

His agent says here that it’s confirmed that Gabbiadini will leave and that he will either end up in the Bundesliga or the Prem. this has the feel of the sort of deal we might do EXCEPT, we wouldn’t get to hear this much about it.

Agent reveals striker could be heading to England: Deal will be complete next week

The 25-year-old Napoli forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks. Transfermarketweb claim Everton, West Ham, West Brom, Southampton, Stoke and Watford are all eager to land the Italy international this month. German trio Borussia Monchengladbach, Schalke and Wolfsburg are also competing for his signature.

“Premier League or Bundesliga? He’ll definitely join one out of those two leagues” Gabbiadini’s agent, Silvio Pagliari, says his client is heading to either the Premier League or the Bundesliga in the current transfer window and his move will be completed very soon. Pagliari told Italian outlet Radio Onda Libera: "The decision is made, Manolo is leaving. "We’ll have it arranged at the end of next week. "Premier League or Bundesliga? He’ll definitely join one out of those two leagues.

"He is very suitable for both, since being a technical as well as a powerful player. “But, before all is done, you won’t hear me saying where he could go.” Gabbiadini has scored four goals in 18 appearances for Napoli so far this season. He netted the equaliser as Maurizio Sarri’s men beat Sampdoria in their Serie A clash on Saturday.

4 goals in 18 games.

Oh great thats 8 in an EPL Season

4 in Italy is worth about 20 everywhere else - they only get one shot every two games.

I like how after getting rid of the automatic news thread, we now have the weekly news thread AND bletch copying the automatic news thread into this thread so it looks like the automatic news thread, even though we’ve got rid of that.

Show/hide article…

It’s official, Fatso’s a cunt…according to Optimus Trousers.

Bletch, the creator of Optimus Trousers explains.

“Well, I was looking through some of the artificial intelligence code I’d written for Optimus Trousers and something started to concern me. It seemed as if he, Optimus Trousers, was becoming, well, sentient. When I re-examined the code in detail, it seemed to have been changed without my involvment. Someone, or something, was changing Optimus Trousers’ core code. Nobody else had access to the code so I had to conclude that Optimus Trousers had become sentient and had changed his own code - by ‘himself’. I still had my doubts, of course, massive doubts, in fact. I mean, how can a machine change its own code? But then I saw something that convinced me. Optimus Trousers had responded to a post by Fatso and had artificially deduced that Fatso was a complete cunt. Well, I knew then that at 21:25 on 10th January 2017 Optimus Trousers had become self-aware”

I can’t find the evidence for it at the moment, but I think I remember reading that he isn’t a starter. Makes sense otherwise they probably wouldn’t be selling him. So some of those goals probably came from the bench, oh and Europe where he got some games.

as far as I can see, the BBC are saying that they’ve agreed a deal for £22m.

Aye, that’s what sky said tonight too during the EFL Cup game.

Probably not what Morgan was expecting for his career when he decided to move from us :lou_facepalm_2:
