The January 2018 Transfer window:- speculation, rumours, dummy spitting, it's all here

It is not good is it? A few hours into 2nd January someone was already complaining that we hadn’t signed anybody yet. These people need to get out more.

He scored plenty of times against us so it would probably be a good signing.

From this article about Walcott leaving Arsenal

On Wednesday, Francis Coquelin was allowed join Valencia in a deal worth £12m, and it appears as though Walcott could soon follow him out of the exit door. According to The Telegraph, Southampton and Everton want to sign him, and are prepared to pay Arsenal £20m for the player, and Walcott wages of £110,000 a week. The Toffees are reportedly favourites to sign the winger this month, ahead of his old club Southampton.

According to Sam Wallace, writing in The Telegraph, “Southampton see real untapped potential in Walcott and are confident that they could reignite his career.”

Persoanlly Everton can have him for £20m andI doubt we’d match £110k a week as we’d have to boost the other player’s wages too…

But we have an ace up our sleeve… we can offer Wenger a player plus cash deal with the ‘next Thierry Henry’ going the other way. More ‘va va poo’ than ‘va va voom’ but don’t mention that until the ink is dry.

This transfer business is fucking easy. Get me Les Reed’s job!

Oooo…makes me go all tingly just thiking of the prospect Simon…go for it. :lou_lol:

Admit it, you’d parade me through the streets of Southampton if I pulled off that masterstroke!

Nope, would rather have the £70m City are willing to pay for him than Theo!!

Sorry but Theo is past it, past it I tell thee…

Yep! :lou_lol:

…shortly before crucifying you in front of The Bargate to a baying Fiverweb crowd when it all goes tits-up.

Ignore the Walcott part. Getting rid of Redmond would surely be worthy of Matt Le Tiss status!

I’ll concede that point…

That’'s certainly pique Arsenal’s interest, surely…

Just get him to change his name to M. Nathan Rougemonde and Les’ phone will be playing its La Marseillaise ring tone within the hour.

Not sure if anyone has already picked up on this one - Nicolas Gaitan from Atletico Madrid…£100k a week salary demands though. Can’t see any way Saints would pay that.

If he wants a move that much he’ll settle for a pay cut in the short term. If he excelled then his agent will line up and push for a move to a more free spending club come the summer. Choosing to come here might seem unlikely but it’s a proven pathway.

I see both Scousers and the Arse have confirmed Sturridge and Walcott will be allowed make a permanent move during the window. Solent report Saints and Everton have already held talks with the Arse.

I held talks with my Arse earlier

It was full of shit now it is just blowing hot air.

Or I’m farting a lot

Too much detail…

Liverpool have put a price on Sturridge of 30 million. Plus 150 grand a week wages. Can’t imagine any club paying anything near that. Let them keep him.
