When’s fkn Austin back? If we end up playing Shane Long as our main striker for rest of season, we’re gonna get relegated imo.
I could see Sturridge or Walcott knocking in the 6 or 7 extra goals what might make the difference. I mean, if they managed to stay fit for 15 consecutive games, which admittedly is a big fkn ask.
Apart from it’s 2 points for an upvote and -1 for a downvote, so you’re actually cheating him out of a point!!
And I did post this on the match thread the other day :-

Not a shame at all, happy to be prvoed wrong, but let them waste their money. I’m sure the other Everton players won’t be clamouring for £100k a week now either…
Definitely a shame as far as I am concerned because I saw him taking Redmond’s place as opposed to playing through the middle. And you all know my views on Redmond. Theo could have come in and done literally fuck all for six months other than score one goal or get two assists and that would have been an improvement on the last six months of Redderz.
Direct pace and occasional goals - vs - Indirect pace, runs around in circles, gives the ball away and then blames his team mates.
Not saying Walcott is the bee’s knees but he at least doesn’t play because Arsenal have Sanchez, Ozil, Ramsey, Welbeck, Lacazette etc as opposed to being dropped because we have the goal machine that is Shane Long and because he contributes absolutely nothing like Redmond. Since he got his England call up, he has done absolutely nothing for Saints.
But Theo hasn’t even got that anymore, like you say if he came in and could replace Redmond then yes, but I fear he needs a run of 10 games to get back to a fraction of what he had before (which is better than Redmond).
Before the FA Cup game last week I would have said yes, after seeing him against Forest I say a definite no.
When you see us linked to players who currently earn £100k plus a week you just know that they are going to end up going somewhere else. I get the feeling we are happy to be linked with players like Walcott and Sturridge so we can go about trying to get our real targets in quietly.
Theo Walcott is shite and hasn’t progressed, why are Arsenal getting rid? The issue is no one will come here bar players wanting touse us as a stepping stone and thats what got us in this bollocks, punished for being successful isn’t such a wise and noble idea afeter all.
I didn’t watch the Forest game but I doubt he has lost his attributes in the last 6 months. He just hasn’t played so will naturally be rusty.
Regarding needing 10 games to get going, how many is a foreigner who has never played in the league going to need to get up to speed? If we are lucky we get another immediate impact like we got from Gabby, not so lucky and we get Ramirez, Boufal etc who needed the best part of a year to find his feet (admittedly he was injured to start with).
Whichever way you look at it, with the position that we are in and the market that we are in, any move is going to constitute a gamble. Get it wrong and we are in bags of shit.
