Sorry to hear of the death of John Motson - although I took against him in 1976 as a biased twit.
My memory of the cup final that year was during the TV build up, I remember Motson saying, as the camera panned round, “there’s a sea of red and white all round the ground, hardly any sign of Southampton supporters!”
