Forest sack some of their recruitment team.

£145m spent, 5 points so far. Not that I blame the recruitment team myself, they’ll have had to pay over the odds even for those players prepared to gamble on going to a newly promoted side that’s lost most of it’s existing players.

:scream::scream::scream::scream:

Obv we aren’t allowed nice things

Fucksake, he’s only been here ten minutes. :rage: Didn’t they also try to sign Lavia before he’d even played for us? What are we, the fucking Generation Game Conveyor Belt?? :rage::rage:

WTAF. Initially thought this was a joke. Turns out it is a joke but not an actual ‘joke’.

Joe shields - what a wanker, what a wanker

If feels like an appropriate chant for this weekend

So, was he only on a one year contract? Id get compo and let him fuck off now. Man, we need a break somewhere in the hierarchy of the footballing life

That’s now two recent starters that will have left in indecent haste - what, if anything, is going on?

Presumably either the recruitment is wrong in the first place or the environment they work in isn’t what was sold to them. Either way it reflects badly on the club.

No he is on 6 months notice apparently.

Saints have played a blinder here.
Tap up Joe Shields & his contact book.
Use his name to sign 5 of the best young talent in the world, then use Fabrizio to darken his name while they get on with bringing in the next sucker & his wunderkind.
Genius AND they’ll get Chelsea to stump up compensation

I see Ralph has said that Shields had nothing to do with Romeo Lavia’s transfer. Also he said Shields was only in role about six weeks, so it’s not a loss really

In any other industry the bastard would be put on gardening leave with no chance to work for new employer unless they cut the notice period. Saints should gouge Chelski with a big payoff if they want him sooner.

This could be Southampton’s line in the sand moment.

If we really want to change how we are viewed as an entity, not just a club, our time is now.

We either roll over and be handed the pillow to bite or as you say, stand up and say “we will take it no more”.

Fine words, and the sentiment is admirable. However we made it clear long ago that we are a selling club, funded by transfer profits. I don’t see how we can suddenly get uppity about all and sundry buying our players or staff. That’s what we do, and it’s a huge part of why promising youngsters come here at all.
