What is the puppose of this - is it to raise money so that he can obtain treatment privately or to raise awareness to that the NHS will use the treatment.

My understanding is the money raised is for private treatment as the NHS don’t fund the treatment. But if they don’t use the money for that it will be used to help others/raise awareness.
