Remainers didn’t get the personal abuse that Leavers got before or after the referendum. There was no wholesale suggestion that Remainers were collectively, racist, stupid, on the far right, equated with the demagogues of the Leave side, supposedly guilty of all sorts merely by being on one side of a two sided question.
We’ve also had numerous challenges to Article 50 even being invoked in the first place, including high court battles, potential defeats in Parliament and the dawning realisation of what many Leavers already knew, that the referendum was consultative, that there was no binding requirement to implement it.
Add to that some rather inconvenient diversions from the hypothetical economic dyatopia laid out by Remainers, eagerly retyped on the hallowed electronic pages of Sotonians, and you can surely forgive our eager @barry-sanchez for his gloating sins.
