The Chinese Have Spoken

My point is that its the hope that kills you

No I just understand when they say they want to progress in to the higher echelons of football theyā€™re taking out their arse.

Everyone is saying that when Les Reed got power at SMS, he got his son to quit his job in the city & join a sports agency, and then started pressuring players to join that agency. And players are fed up with it. And that if youā€™re academy player you get more money if you join Les Reedā€™s sonā€™s agency. That is what everyone is saying. Sounds shady imo. Pap will love it!

People on Saintsweb will love this

No one would join if he looked like Les, that casting couch would be a lonely placeā€¦

This is a surprisingly intelligent interview about club finance investment and atmosphere.

Not part of our issues but as context and ideas a good read.

A footballer doing an MBA whatever next?

I saw this on the BBC and thought you should see it: Cut Premier League ticket prices, urges Man City captain - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-42574469

I am many things Bazza, but niether you nor I are that much of a cunt

Well thing is Bearsy, who is saying what? Anyone have a source? Or is this malicious gossip? If this were true, at the very least it would be a conflict of interest and more likely against SFC policyā€¦ I doubt Les would still be in a job if there was any truth in thisā€¦

Wanting to and being able to are two different things. I am sure every club would like to be more successful but donā€™t have the financial clout to compete at a higher level. You seem to think that we compete in a vacuum.

Do you remember Strong Arms? I dunno that he ever post on here. He said about it on saintsweb, and then immediately changed it to make it less Libels, but I saw the full details cos I am in all places at all times.

I figure it might not be true, or it might not be shady. I mean, maybe the club got fed up with cunt agents, and decided to form ties with just one agency they trust and it was all Approved & above board, and would be quite sense if you think about itā€¦

On other hand, it might be both true + shady, and cost Reed his job which would be Excitement & Drama.

Bears like livinā€™ on the edge !

Fiverweb getting quite exited about this. Also claims that he takes a % of the transfer fees. I supposed it has taken some of the heat off of Pellegrino for now. It all usd to be so simple though. Find a target and rock up to his house with the rest of an angry mob armed with flaming torches and pitchforks. Now you have to get together with accountants and fraud experts bearing laptops and spreadsheets.

Well Iā€™ve just done a quick google and canā€™t even find Les Reedā€™s sonā€™s name let alone the fact that he is a football agentā€¦

http://www.midas-sports.com/our-team/andrew-reed/

Its more likely , as our ursine cousin mentions above, that there is a more formal agreement in place where the club has a prefered partner/agents for doing business with as most clubs do - where club advises younger players on such thingsā€¦ afterall we all know what shit happens when managers and players shift agents who are aligned with other clubsā€™ boardrooms?

So I have no idea of the details here, but looks like some fans have had rusty pitchforks since 'getting rid of Lowe ā€™ and as always when we see a down turn in on the field fortunes, many stupid cunts think its their job to find a scapegoat and bring out the baying mobā€¦ sorry but have these people not got anything better to do? :lou_facepalm_2:

Next we will see local TV crew interviewing the biggest morons thay can find for an opinion who will state without any knowledge that its 'all wrong, sack the board, sack Reedā€¦ blah blah, and thus urban myths is created and idots flock to dance to its tuneā€¦ Did they not learn last time that such actions led toā€¦ :lou_surprised:

Well, his name is Reed and he works for a sports agency. But is he Les Reedā€™s son? It would be easy to make the connection if he had an unusual name such as, for example, Allardyce, but there are Reeds all over the shop.

I thought his son was called Harrison

I know what you mean. I saw his hairline and thought hmm possibly not. Maybe he was adopted tho, or i.e. Mrs Reed has got Explaining To Do.

Did Les used to be a ginger too?

You can find a link to all transfer business in the Premier League last season, Midas sport is quite well represented but only one Saints player (Josh Sims) was represented by Midas Sports.

Note this is only for Jan 2016 to December 2017

Scuse the Google link
