🇨🇳 The Chinese Are Coming

When was Peak Football? Can we narrow it down to an actual year? I’m genuine interest.

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o’er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils;

And they was all yellow.

Mid 90’s was good quality, British players, terracing, still pretty cheap.

All good questions, but would you want to be labelled with selling your best player as the first decision you made? If the Gao’s want to get the fanbase onside all they have to do is say he goes nowehere this season. Sorted!

Jeez I assumed we were at least talking pre-Prem

Van Dijk is going for money, offer him enough he stays.

That is a show of intention.

I’ve checked and All Seater was mandatory in top two leagues from start of 1994/95 season. So what we saying, 1993/94 season was Best Ever & Glory Days? Does that sound right?.

60/70s were the "golden age. We had a quality national team then too. British players? I dont see anything wrong with foreign players. I guess it is just a racial thing eh Barry? Terraces? Pah. Nothing romantic about people pissing in your pocket or getting pushed down rows on concrete steps. Prices? Yep, agree they were much better back then, but better still in the 60s/70s. You could go to a match with your pocket money and stil have change for a packet of Percy Daltons.

Yes cool Bearsy.

So the best time just happens to be when you went.

Mid seventies-mid eighties was much better and more people smoked.

About right.

Shit Pies? Why the fuck do you want to eat shit pies?

This tells us who he borrowed the money from. Any thoughts @dubai_phil

Is this good news? Government backed bank sounds good, but i know shit about this kind of thing.

Someone tell me it’s good please(or at least that it could be worse).

Sod the money, I just want to see a picture of Mr Gao and Nelly with Saints scarfs on cheering the team on at St Marys.

Sounds as dodgy as fuck to be honest, but no different to other buyouts - same ol same old.

That doesn’t help Cob. Will put in the “could be worse” category, but mainly because they have the word bank in their name.

I think the news a loan has been taken out on the club to pay Liebre profits is enough for me to take down the St Kat shrine

If it’s a loan it has to be paid back along with interest.

Either he does that from profit on property development OR from his “earnings” from the club.

I cannot imagine it is a gift.
