Bony, 27, cost Manchester City £28m in January 2014 after a purple spell of nine goals in 14 games but has struggled to match those standards since.

There were plenty who said Francesco Guidolin deserved more time as Swansea manager after getting the club out of relegation trouble last season.
The Italian was under pressure not only for results, however, but for chopping and changing both players and tactics in contrast to the club’s long-time ethic of continuity.
His latest idea was to move biggest goal threat Gylfi Sigurdsson out to the wing.
In the 23 matches since he took over the club, the 60-year-old Italian named an unchanged side only twice.
Victor Moses has two years left on his Chelsea contract and may finally be carving out a future with the club, more than four years after arriving from Wigan in a £9m deal.
The winger, who has been shunted out on a succession of season-long loan deals at first Liverpool then Stoke and West Ham, was used as a wing-back in the 2-0 win at Hull.
The 85 minutes he played provided the longest amount of Premier League game time since last November – and his first start in a Chelsea shirt since May 2013.
Things haven’t worked out so well for Tom Cleverley since he chose Everton as his destination when he left Manchester United despite a successful loan spell at Aston Villa.
The former England midfielder had a fairly average game in the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, his first Premier League start of this season.
In 18 games that the 27-year-old has started since signing for the Toffees two summers ago, he’s finished on the winning side only five times.
Former England Under 19 international centre half George Evans must have looked at the performances of Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala over the last year and wondered if he could really have done worse if Manchester City had given him a chance.
The 21-year-old, let go by City to join Reading last January, is now flourishing under the management of Jaap Stam who has converted him into a holding midfield player.

8 – Puel continued to rotate his squad, making wholesale changes from the trip to Be’er Sheva, with the likes of Jose Fonte, Ryan Bertrand, Steven Davis and Charlie Austin all returning.
The Frenchman took a risk by leaving the quartet at home on Thursday but it paid off as all four looked fully fresh.
Puel’s continuing policy to use Redmond as a striker will come under scrutiny the longer the winger’s goal drought goes on.
Player ratings (1-10; 10 = best. Players introduced after 70 minutes get no rating)
GK Fraser Forster, 7 – Did not have too many opportunities to impress England’s watching interim manager Gareth Southgate. Apart from making one smart save to deny Three Lions teammate Jamie Vardy, he was outshone by opposite number Schmeichel.
DF Cedric Soares, 5 – Restored to the starting lineup after being benched for the midweek Europa League game and was forced off by an injury before half time.
DF Jose Fonte, 7 – Veteran skipper felt the benefits of his Thursday night rest and turned in a classy display. Southampton fans are praying he soon signs the new contract that has been on the table since the summer.
DF Virgil van Dijk, 7 – Talked about the importance of Southampton extending their run of clean sheets prior to the game and helped his side claim another shutout. Poor back pass almost gifted Leicester a goal but was otherwise unflappable.
DF Ryan Bertrand, 7 – Will fancy his chances of starting England’s upcoming World Cup qualifier with ex-Saint Luke Shaw injured. Defended well and got forward whenever he could.
MF Oriol Romeu, 8 – An all-action display from the former Chelsea man, including a heroic triple block to keep out Vardy twice and Islam Slimani. Saints’ best player.
MF Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 7 – Has not taken long to get his feet under the Premier League table. Another mature display from the young former Bayern Munich midfielder.
MF Steve Davis, 7 – Had his feet up at home during Saints’ Europa League clash with Hapoel Be’er Sheva and rewarded Puel with a vibrant midfield showing. Never stopped running.
No. 10 Dusan Tadic, 6 – Has thrived in his new role behind the front two in the opening weeks of the season but was not at his best before being substituted. Let down by poor decision making.
FW Charlie Austin, 7 – Another confident performance from the former QPR front man. Was unlucky to be denied a sixth goal in five games by the woodwork. Could have done better with his attempted chip over Schmeichel.
FW Nathan Redmond, 6 – Looked decent with the ball at his feet and his pace will always cause defenders problems but not a natural finisher.
FW Shane Long, 6 – The Irishman’s goal wait goes on.
MF James Ward-Prowse – Unlucky not to start after playing well in midweek.
DF Cuco Martina, 6 – A far better performance than in the Europa League game.

Clubs around Europe have been spending more money than ever before on new players over the past few years.
And teams in the Premier League, particularly, have been splashing ridiculous amounts of cash on new signings recently as they take advantage of the new TV deal.
Manchester United spent nearly £150m alone during the last transfer window.
So where does their squad place among the most costly teams in Europe - as revealed by the footy data site?
Southampton’s 0-0 draw at Leicester City featured another impressive display of resistance, as they secured a sixth clean sheet in succession.
Central to that run continuing was midfielder Oriol Romeu, who produced a superb performance against the Foxes.
Romeu’s afternoon was highlighted by a goal-saving tackle on Jamie Vardy in the first half, which was instantly followed by crucial blocks from Islam Slimani and then Vardy off the second rebound.
However, the Spaniard’s defensive work extended well beyond that, as the numbers prove…
– Romeu’s six tackles were the most of any player on the pitch
– He gained possession 17 times during the match - six more than any other player
– His two interceptions tied for the lead in his team, along with Steven Davis and Ryan Bertrand
– His two blocks, referenced above, were the joint most of any player on the pitch, matched only by Leicester’s Danny Drinkwater
– Romeu won nine of the ten duels he embarked upon for a success rate that was ten per cent higher than any other player on the pitch
– It wasn’t just defensively where he impressed, though. His 90.3% passing accuracy was second among all starting players, with only Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s 92.8% bettering it
