Anyone else picking up tensions in the Bearsy/Tokyo/Fatso love triangle?
Yep, I’m watching The Affair at the moment and Bear is Noah, Fatso is Alison - Noah’s muse and current infatuation, and Toke is Helen - Noah’s wife stuck at home with the 4 kids whilst Noah and Alison romp like bunnies in front of us all.
i should start by blacklisting all bros except for i.e. bbc and i.e. OS and i.e. some of the better papers, cos everything else is just clickbait bollocks & rehashed plagiarism imo. It would be easier to add a credible news source, if we ever find one, than try and figure out which of i.e. Tribalfootball & Metro & Talksport & goal.com & squawka & Give Me Sport & whatever else spouts the highest percentage of utter bollocks.
Thanks for your thoughts, Bear. That’s exactly the sort of feedback I’m looking for.
Yep, it is an option to limit the sources to a subset of trusted publishers, but things will get better generally in a number of ways…
I am going to stop articles that contain exactly the same content from appearing which should reduce the amount of syndicated articles
By default, pap is going to make the text from all of the articles hidden unless you click a button to read it. This should make it easier to scan the headlines, and stop the feeling of drowning in lots of text - especially on a mobile device.
Optimus trousers is going to look for articles that contain sotonians.com tags. tl;dr I am going to look for any sotonians tags that appear in the text of the articles, and if I find one, pap will highlight the fact at the top of the article. So for example, if a Daily Mail article contains the headline “Tokyoamhomosex!” I will pick up on this because we have a tag for that. A more interesting example might be that as Optimus trousers reported earlier today, we appear to be interested in a Dutch right-back called Cuco Martina. We could create a sotonians.com tag for MARTINA after which Optimus trousers will start to look for mentions of that tag in articles. The result should mean that you will be able to scan the headlines for tags that you’re interested in reading about, and ignore those that you aren’t.
I think it would be shame to lose some of the articles that are more driven by speculation/gossip. Those have been the more interesting ones to read over the past couple of days. So maybe a mix of the better versions of these + the more serious sites. I’ll try and remember to up vote good ones.
You understand that this AI spazbot is simply going Here and regurgitating the entire site…so why no just let people go there and look for themselves? Do you think I’m going to read 10 pages of shit stories when I can just go to Newsnow and pick out the stories that aren’t endless repetition and bollocks.
just spit-balling here, but why not have it so that the spazbot searches the comment sections of these articles, and then posts these also, but as seperate posts, so it’s like a conversation. It could also search out additional content from i.e. saintsweb and could post these, perhaps under different usernames like “Android-Alpine” or whatever.
Then we wouldn’t need to log on at all. Could be a real time-saver!
Yeah, I’ve found that to be an interesting discovery of mine and bletch’s bastard offspring (the union was never blessed, alas). But then, that was always true of Internet forum stuff in general. This stuff just tends to be better written and peppered with fewer insults
