Gave the Aussie quicks a bit of a hammering when they took the new ball

That’s stumps and it’s been England’s day thanks to a magnificent partnership between Dawid Malan, with his maiden Test hundred, and Jonny Bairstow. They were tottering when Mark Stoneman fell with a dose of controversy, but it’s been a terrific response from this pair. England are on course for a first innings total that will put some pressure on Australia. Were Australia at their best with the ball? There was certainly some hostile stuff, especially to Stoneman, but perhaps a lack of consistency. And there’s this, too: England have never lost at the WACA when they have made 300 in their first innings. They have always lost when they have failed to do so…(hat-tip to the folks at Opta for that).

The one thing that stood out to me from that was “before Vince edges behind for 25!”. How many times has Vince NOT been dismissed edging the ball?
