The 2016 close season transfers thread

interesting to know true price  11 mil plus adds is my guess…as long as we take no person part exchange.

some games i was in awe of Victor   but most of the time i believed he was on the verge of red card. :scream: To me Romeu is a class player who has improved and will be top man with regular responsibilty.

We also have Alfie Jones to break into the squad this season…CB and a very good defence mid field.

Hesketh will also appear in the squad as attack mid field…a class player now fully recovered from injury.

I could easily tolerate someone getting a cut price wanyama, if it weren’t fkn Spurs.

think wanyama was always going and the replacement will be announced once euros over i hope Redmond would be nice to announce but a few things left to do on that one i guess.

Will Pelle stay not sure a lot will depend on the rest of the tournament if an Italian club comes in for him it may be he has played his last game for us but a replacement is ready im sure mr ings is always likely to move clubs if he can prove is fitness or benteke one of those has to leave

exciting to see the players coming in and lets hope for a good start this year and a great european tour

it’s only money, at least we’ve still got our health

Wasn’t sure where to post this, but here seems appropriate as it could prevent an outgoing transfer.

Read Southampton (I know, I know…) seem to think a new contract extension for Shane Long is imminent

Pelle to?

Simon Peach suggesting that big Vic’s transfer out is a lower priority than getting a new manager.

Good to hear.

I guess he’s not suggesting that a new manager could persuade him to stay.

Is he?

Could take until next week for Wanyama’s exit to #THFC to be confirmed as #SaintsFC are focused on getting a new manager in place

spoke to a Celtic mate today and he reckons that we have been watching Tierney the fullback for quite a bit this year (along with everybody else when I looked him up).

I asked him how he feels about us raiding them every year and he just shrugged and said that’s the way it is but feels that it allows them to get stronger. I think I need a bit of his philosophy

To be fair, there’s an argument to be had that we are in a similar position of selling players and getting stronger. We’ve lost a lot of personnel and are still getting better each year! Maybe the football last season wasn’t as pretty but we arguably should have won more points with a better mentality and more consistent performances.

If anything, we’re better than Celtic at it as it as we lose more than one key player each summer and do it in a better league

This lads a good prospect :smile:COYS. MAYBE…New manager,Redmond, this lad Freeman and 3/4 extended contract press release tonight/morn :laughing:COYS

So Vardy has signed a new 4 year deal at Leicester, I assume this is because a) They’ve offered him a huge wage increase and b) He wants to play regularly rather than warm the bench at Arsenal!

I wonder if our board and itchy footted players have taken note of this development!!

they’ve offered him £100,000 a week, apparently. Four years for a 29 year old whose game is based on running lots and running fast is possibly unwise and not something I’d want saints to do.

They can also offer him the oh-so-important Champions League football. Even if it is just for one year.

Perhaps his experience of playing against teams that constantly have 10 men behind the ball, and seeing how ineffectual he is in teams that don’t play on the counter helped too.

Oh, and he can say I play for the current Premier League champions, something he won’t be able to say at Arsenal.
