Stalled a little over the final 5 overs after an express start.
Still and all, that’s a formidable score. Not easy to keep up with that asking rate, and puts a lot of pressure on the Sussex batsmen as it’ll look a whole lot tougher if they fall behind the rate early in their innings.
Short boundaries…need to keep them quiet from the off…obviously.
Hants win by 20 runs
Sussex 169 - 7
Excellent bowling display from Abbott and Crane…good team display.
Comfortable enough in the end, but looked a bit iffy here and there. Abbott’s figures of 3/22 are truly exceptional for a T20 match, and Crane’s 2/24 not far behind. They, and Shafridi to a lesser extent, helped slow things down in the middle of the Sussex innings, leaving them with too much to do late on. Really good win.
6 “non English players” though.
Catching flack for that fromthe cricket press & Bumble
Rules is rules…they all know what they are and we break none of them.
So what’s their problem?
The losers always tend to find something to moan about - it’s called distracting from the fact that they lost.
See the cases of Mourinho against…everyone.
Dont get me wrong am glad we put out the strongest team possible.
But I do also see the “youth getting ecperience” argument and the weakening the National team.
We see the same in football of course
