Summer 2017 transfer window

About £15m too much I would’ve thought. Fkn market’s gone mad!

I guess thats the “We’ve recently been relegated” premium…

He said that originally Bear, but that was before £8m was being talked about!

I still wouldn’t be tempted tbh. If he scores even 5 goals this season some mug will want to pay twenty.

Any more on this Lemon bloke, I’ve not see any announcements of him putting pen to paper…

Saints plundering Celtic yet again!

He is good on crosses…

According to the Fiverweb ITKer -

Lemina deal should be done today. We are looking to bring in a keeper on loan. We are talking to 3 CBs and looking to sign one. We are looking to bring in an attacker on loan with an option to buy. 3 out. Gazza possibly, Virgil van Cock, one other.

What the fuck is wrong with Alex McCarthy? If the club have said anything about an injury then I have missed it.

Might the attacker be the Man City/Celtic lad and the other maybe Clasie?

Don’t need to be itk to work out the logic in all that

Wimmer or Hoedt or one other - worst case Gibson I expect we changed priorities from ones for the future pdq after FF signed his deal

McArthy had a bad hamstring tear - so to lose him again is unlucky and upsetting but we would need cover as Taylor is our Bench option for when FF is out for any reason - honestly think Gazza is still a few years from being close to an EFL “cover” keeper so we need the FF cover (again)

Loan - we’ve all heard the Patrick Roberts rumours all summer and one of PEH & Clasie. I like Clasie but with him in our CM we simply lack height.

Saints linked with another keeper. (Top article below).

Apparently, ex-Bayern Munich keeper Lukas Raeder had trained with us twice in 10 days and we offered him terms but he rejected them.

So, with Forster being given a new deal, Stuart Taylor (hilariously) being given a new deal and with Alex McCarthy still on the books, then what was the thinking behind the Raeder deal?

Perhaps Raeder was offered a deal before Taylor signed?

Perhaps Raeder wasn’t offered a deal?

Perhaps our goalkeeping coaches haven’t got a fucking clue?

McCarthy has glass hamstrings apparently.

Rumours trickling around of Long off to Burnley now they have the Grey cash to splash.

Not sure about that, he is a tsw type footballer - runs around a lot, lots of effort, moans at the officials, and did have a good season before being messed about by Puel.

IF he is off then the other rumours about a loan and Patrick Roberts make sense, but then we are an injury and some yellow cards away from starting Gallagher / Roberts in games…

Glad I’m not Les.

I like Long as an impact substitute to stretch the game and defend winning positions from the front and also when we play a counter attacking style. He just isn’t suited to the slow, ‘possession at all costs’ style that we adopted last year. His touch and finishing is fairly awful in all honesty.

The rumours about Vietto from Atletico Madrid have resurfaced again. They announced yesterday that he was ‘for sale’ so there is every chance the stories are just the result of putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, but then again who knows.

In fairness, he does sound like the sort of player we would go for.

Hmmm.

Loan offer - check

Argentinian - check

Yeah, better than most click bait these days someone did some research for a second or two

Was looking at Shite Sports Transfer Centre and the bitch fight over Courtinio and then I realised, why do we get so attached to players that play for a club?

I guess in bygone eras they were part of the fabric but today’s lot are, like my father in law says, “like assholes, they are everywhere”.

I can’t get as excited about transfers as I once did, especially as footballers are basically a tradable commodity nowdays and only seen as people by the fans (except that van Dick guy - he’s a cunt).

Bring on the season so we can be over officiated, under valued and as always, the MIGHTY SAINTS :lou_sunglasses:
