So the Fargo Season 5 finale is out and I’ve seen it. It’s one of the best seasons of TV I’ve seen in a long time. I haven’t watched Ted Lasso before so I didn’t even realise Juno Temple was English. She does a fantastic job as does John Hamm, reportedly one of the nicest people in the business, playing a complete bastard.
I’m trying to convince the youngest to watch all the Indy films with me but I am conscious that they’re all fucking sausage fests, with on average a couple of women in each film. Fargo is the complete opposite this season. The strongest characters in this are all women, all bringing their own brand of tougnness to the equation.
The series also has grand themes about downtrodden people and the shit they have to swallow, something the finale delivered beautifully. The character of Ole Munch seemed like he didn’t fit into any of this, but he’s just been eating shit for centuries.
A very satisfying finale. No loose ends and all debts due paid in full.

At tge gate he’d tried the do you know who I am route to get an upgrade.

Tbh. As someone who has actually devoured every one of the books, this made sense as an episode.
Reacher is a loner but his DNA was forged by the 110th and this book (and some others) cover that back story)
In terms of a TV show - MCU has become too focused on producing shows for Comic readers and have left much of the population (inc me) behind) I see that what the showrunners tried to do was to fill in the back story early in the run of (possibly) 5, 6 or 7 seasons (There are 21 books to film not sure Ritchson will do them all.
So it wasn’t shit - that is a good thing. It had pacing issues but recovered them - sure it moved the action to the East Coast and brought back Finlay but otherwise it was fairy true to the core story.
It now sets up the rest of the universe. Reacher is on his own, and on a bus.
It s a fuck sight more true than the Tom Cruise movies
