The Professor and The Madman - on Prime

Mel Gibson & Sean Penn

About compiling the first Oxford English Dictionary

Have no idea why I put it on and then found I’d got to the end, so clearly it wasn’t bad. Deffo worth a watch.

So I am up to date on all of Marvel’s What If series. I think it’s very good. I’ve seen a few people moaning online, but I think it’s very well done for what it is.

Remake of Papillon on Netflix

Rami Malek & Charlie Hunnan give the original a good run for its money and bests it imho.

Give it a go. :+1:

Fucking Amazon Firestick has just “updated” to make my viewing experience better. Can’t find anything.

Anyway:

Bill - Netflix (I think)

Bill Shakespeare going to that there London.

Hilarious scrapes and comic situations - Really poor tbh.

Gave up after 58mins (after spending most of it surfing stuff - not porn @scotty )

Avoid.

Deadpool 2

OK, the first is always the best but this isn’t to shabby, if you like the humor.

The cameo bits at the end make it worth it.

I’ll happily watch number 3

This sounds like a good call. I’ve not seen it yet but Kermode paints an enticing picture, It has a cinema release but also on Amazon apparently…

Oh do keep up, reviewed that weeks ago.

No spoilers but probably opened a pandoras’ box of all the associated Arthurian Legends

I was busy last week searching for petrol. You probably posted in the Capeshit thread which I don’t read.

Or the Films I have seen thread

Watched Midnight Mass on Netflix last week, a subject matter (which if you pay attention is apparent/hinted at in the first episode) that I enjoy but my god some of the dialogue was painfully slow at times, I don’t mind if it drives the narrative but this was just inconsequential waffle a lot of the time and if abridged could have made for a more attention holding, better paced, 30min/episode mini-series. 5/10.

I used to sell these original Victorian prints back in the '90s for about a tenner each. If they remake all the Arthurian stories I’ll have to start scouring the local antiquarian bookshops again.

English Indian comedy curry caper on Prime.

Actually a nice family oriented film.

If Mark Kemode rates it it must be shit, most overrated film critic out there…

FWIW I’m about an hour into it and about to give up…

So switch to Netflix & Bohemian Rhapsody

Did about 15mins tbf. Didn’t grab me.

The Letter For The King - Netflix tries too hard.

Caught the last 2/3rds of Blues Brothers on ITV4 - Evergreen - not the container ship.

:clap::clap::+1::+1::+1:

Well I stayed until the end, bloody minded me, and it was bad…

Did some research on the story afterwards and it seems the film is faithful to the poem, when you read the précis of the poem then you understand the film…
