I don’t think there’s a route from Cobham to Benidorm anyway.
Just watched “Cristian Ronaldo:Impossible To Ignore” on BBC IPlayer
It was a complete Ronaldo / Manure hagiography, without any input from the man himself.
Worth a watch to see some of the goals he has scored - as an aside it was really weird to recognise so much of the location footage in Madeira - our pre-lockdown Fam Holiday.
I’ve actually got to back up @Polski_Filip and his recommendation for For All of Mankind, absolutely gripping stuff, the physics and science may be all wrong but it is very enjoyable…
Apple TV for those without overseas access.
(I still smirk at the Apocalypse Now moment)
Two for you:
Yesterday
A man called Ove
Won’t say anything apart from they’re worth a watch - both very different to each other. Try them.
YouTube
The Killers at Glasto 2019
Goosebumps
Red Tails
WW2 fighter pilot unit tackling racism and fighting for Uncle Sam back in the day. Fact based. Worth a watch even if it gets a bit Saving Private Ryan mawkish at times and a few technical inaccuracies. Definitely worth investing time for a watch for a different take on WW2
Not watched yet, but somehow, it seems Clarkson has had an epiphany and even the fail is writing love letter articles about his new show where he plays an idiot to perfection
Best night’s entertainment of the year!
WiFi is down, sitting in balcony door watching wave after wave of Independence Day shit pass through.
Now we have Red ball lightning coming in.
Boss was driving had his windscreen smashed by hail stones as big as Tennis Balls. Had a tornado up the road, 30 buildings damaged.
Cool
Do you need VPN for this, or do you just have to move to Apocalypski, Polski?
Ah, George Lucas’ naive attempt to solve racism!
You missed a rather important element in your synopsis. It focuses on a group of African American pilots. When Lucas tried to get it distributed and no-one would take it, he went on a chat show tour claiming racism.
So you can believe him, or you might just consider the fact that the last decent film he made was Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Not quite sure if you’re trying to have a pop at me tbh.
I stumbled across the film, watched it, found it entertaining to enough to post about. Errrm that’s it really.
I’m having a go at George Lucas.
Standard since The Phantom Menace.
If you want a decent movie about African Americans going into war, go for Glory. Denzel’s breakout movie.
I’ll give it a go.
It’s on Netflix.
Right, so I have just watched Glory again thanks to @Cobham-Saint’s review of Red Tails.
Fucking hell, what a film. There are quite a few known names in this movie, with some notable big performances. I am not sure that Matthew Broderick, Cary Elwes, Denzel Washington or Morgan Freeman have done a better film, and at least three of them have done a shitload of fucking decent films.
Am currently watching it. Marvellous recommendation
only marginally spoiled by the young characters Ray Holt from Brooklyn 99 & Perry Cox from Scrubs
If only the academy knew at the time. Probably wouldn’t have got all them Oscars
I really like a good war film, and by that, I mean a brutal war film. This is that. The Beast was that. Das Boot is that. I wasn’t having a go at you earlier but Red Tails veers big on sentimentality and the films I’ve mentioned don’t.
