What, that they saw @Saint-CD ?

We’ve been enjoying Briar Patch on alibi, nice mix of old fashioned noir and up to date setting. A bit like Pulp Fiction but less garish.

Watched Twist yesterday. Really disappointed with that, seems like an exercise in box-ticking. Caine plays himself as per usual, not impressed with the rest tbh. Storyline very unconvincing. Rafferty Law looks uncannily like his father.

Yep Lady Slowlane and myself have just finished watching it ourselves. Lady SL has just gone to the safe to check her jewellery, so much of that Sutton Hoo treasure so reminded her of her gold trinkets.

I watched an older series on Netflix this week, Manhunt: UNABOMBER with Paul Bettany and some other English Bloke pretending to be an FBI agent. It’s alright I suppose but I think what I really want to watch is a film exploring his manifesto. Maybe the answer is to just read the manifesto, itself. 6/10.

You probably bought it around the same time too

It must be The Dig day … we’ve just finished it and I thought ā€œwonder what’s doing on Sotoniansā€, lo and behold it’s the hot topic. Yes, we enjoyed it too. Not quite a riveting watch but fascinating. Shamefully we have never been to it bearing in mind it’s about 20 miles down the road. Must put it on my bucket list.

Didn’t see myself Cobs but I believe you … I do tend to get around in my plus fours and tweed cap.

So now watch Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb on Netflix.
It is remarkable.
Plus, a Sotonian had an emergency prostrate emptying episode on that exact spot over 20 years ago!
And unlike the Dig there will be an even better S2 coming after Ramadan

Black Mirror, season 3, episode 2, Playtest

Probably the best yet…

Getting some ā€˜Don’t hug me I’m scared’ vibes from this, enjoying it so far, Bettany as always very watchable and Elizabeth Olsen is a sheer delight :flushed:

Are you saying there is a new season of Black Mirror?
Arrgh no signal coming down phone line last 2 days so no internet signal strong enough to stream anything
:face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

It’s up to season 5… all on flix of the net…

Fucking hell. This is the cost of going to real ale venues.

I fear for the post-lockdown landlords.

Hello, stout yeoman of the bar. Can you give me a foaming flagon of your finest please?

This is why I still drink lager.

Stumbled on Corner Gas on Netflix

Canadian comedy. Some good wordplay with more of a UK sense of humour.

Enjoyable

Powered through 3rd series of Marcella on ITV. For fans of Anna Friel if you aren’t into police detective with a twist shows.

Not a fan of Anna Friel or cop shows, so is it worth a watch (or recommend to Mrs C_S and YoungAdult#1 - who commandeer the big tv in the living room with sound bar etc- not that I’m bitter and twisted mind)

Lord not sure I want that responsibility! It is written and created by guy who did The Bridge so it’s Nordic noir set in London for 2 series and then northern Ireland for last one. Nasty crimes, mental health, baby death, gangs and a bit more death involved.

That’s deffo one for Mrs C_S & YoungAdult#1

I’ll give it a swerve

I am working my way through it. Quite dark and menacing at times and mostly gripping, though not always, but overall I am a fan

Lockdown needs to end and needs to end soon!

For some reason I put on Firefly Lane (Netflix) watched the first episode and now on to the second one…

This is firmly in Mrs C_S and YoungAdult#1 territory and I’m ahead of the curve…!

The fact it has Sarah Chalke in it may be the reason though.
