Not so much my recommendation but I am looking forward to watching it…

It ticks a lot of boxes for me from Mark Kermode’s description.

WandaVision continues to be the best show I’m currently watching on a streaming platform. I won’t spoil too much of what goes on this episode, but it amused and shocked in equal measure.

What I do want to remark on is the early promise of Disney+'s original output. So far, we’ve had The Mandalorian and WandaVision. If these are indicative of what it to come, then I welcome our corporate cultural overlords.

In both cases, they’ve had a (no pun intended) vision of what they wanted to do and have executed wonderfully. Of the two shows, WandaVision was definitely the bigger gamble because despite the sitcom framework, there was no real template for it on-screen.

All The Mandalorian has to do was capture the space Western feel of the early Star Wars movies.

There are a few articles out there talking about how the Mandalorian directors used huge micro led walls of TV screen showing live video footage in favour of the traditional green screen approach as used in the Marvel movies for example. The benefit being that the actors are far better able to understand and react to their surroundings. I haven’t rewatched it since learning this but I have been wondering whether this was strongly appreciated subconsciously and a contributing factor to the likeability of the series.

Yeah I was aware of this, funnily enough.

That tech will be in the home within 20 years, if not a lot sooner. Can imagine some rich bastards having it already, perhaps purpose-building a house to do so.

If you want to see the difference, it’s probably worth watching the prequels again.

RedLetterMedia took the piss out of them for a scene in RoTS, during the scene where they all find out Palpatine is the Sith Lord.

They all just slowly amble off, not having any sense of where they are. When they should have been pelting it.

I’d love that in my house, a Volume for a true 3d movie, no need to go to the nearest iMax

They also used the tech during some scenes in Disco S3 inc the farewell to Michelle Yeoh.
Seems funky but also pretty small scale atm their system was circular & a bit smaller than a kiddies fairground ride from the article I read.
Promising stuff though

For just one fleeting moment there was a Stranger Things vibe

We move to the Endgame and should go back to the Capeshit Thread

Bohemian Rhapsody has just landed on Prime :+1:
